I know we have plenty of nice weather left but I was looking at my 7’rear blade which I use for light snow

I would like to add a “plastic “ cutting edge to the blade

I read past post but can’t seem to find a website to purchase the “plastic”

Can someone help out

Thanks
Ray

“plastic “ is not the correct word. I believe it is a Poly Edge
Was not sure how to edit my post

You can use poly or even a thick piece of rubber..

We used the tread portion of an old tire at work on a rear blade. It was held in place by clamping it between the cutting edge and the moldboard. Lasts forever. The guys liked it for plowing over some of the irregular surfaces and for doing squeegee work on slush. The tire material was difficult to work with, but it still looks like new after several winters.

Same idea but horse mats is something I’ve read about too.

Some snow plow dealer offer ploy cutting edge.

I got horse stall mats on sale at TSC last year. $35 for a 4x6 1"thick.

On my truck plow, I used thick wall plastic pipe that I got free from scrap left over when they installed gas lines near me. Cut a slot, and ratchet strapped it to the blade. Once I got a base of packed ice/snow, I took the pipe off and could scrap with the metal edge. Nice to have both types of blade edges.

My strip of horse stall mat is holding up well after 2 years. I've got the rest of the mat if I need a replacement.

Before my driveway freezes rock hard - I simply reverse my rear blade 180 degrees to plow snow. Works great and doesn't gouge up the soft gravel.
