A bomb would likely not give the insane person that same feeling of power, being unable to witness his mayhem. I saw a documentary in the 80s about shootings called "open season". The shrinks, basically said that if a person can't be famous, then being infamous will have to suffice, to paraphrase the documentary.

It's a stupid argument that if you outlaw guns, people would kill with something else. The criminal element would STILL have guns! The law abiding man would be protecting his house with a ball peen hammer. That guy in Phili was arrested twelve times and had all manner of firepower, unlawfully.

Why do so many folks keep assuming they are going to try and outlaw certain firearms?...it's not going to happen...
They may try to put tighter restrictions on ownership of certain weapons and ammunition stores etc...they may try to enact laws that require licenses for a much wider list of firearms...

What they will do is try and make it harder for unstable individuals to legally purchase firearms and ammo...and to do that anyone wanting to buy a firearm is going to be required to prove they are not a kook and have never been prescribed certain medications or been treated for certain conditions etc., etc...and when you check the boxes on the form and sign it...the fine print will say that you are agreeing to allow them to search your medical, employment and financial records etc., etc...

As others have said here it all boils down to mental illness! A lunatic could use most anything to harm a lot of people. It's not the gun despite what some people believe!

Sorry. I never understood why age or gender makes any difference. All supposed to be equal, right? With an older person, society has much more invested. Education, friends, family, all manner of ties. Not so with the young.

I guess there is more than one way to look at it.

I also guess you dont have kids. They can change your perspective quite a bit.

Have you ever cared about someone more than you cared about yourself? (Not a charged rhetorical question, just a regular un emotional question)

In my best way of seeing it. Spiritual development is the reason why we are here. That is more of an issue with an older person. Not much of that has occured with a young person. A young persons spirit would simply be recycled so to speak. But of course, peoples EGO don't like to see it that way, with carrying on THEIR name and genetics and so forth.

the only people affected by more gun restrictions is the law abiding citizen.
If you take the guns / ammo away, the only people affected will be the law abiding citizen will become sitting targets for criminals.

Criminals don't care how many laws they pass to restrict guns. I just don't see why those that call for more restrictions can't see this.
The law abiding citizen isn't the problem here, and these idiot politicians can't figure something this simple out. Yet, they want to represent you !

Yep. They have armed security 24 7 but they want to disarm you.
If they manage to pass some sort of gun restrictions..I bet there will be some sort of loop hole for their armed security

Another thing that always makes me laugh. When you watch the news,or hear those idiots in washing speak about gun violence.
I must have bough defective guns, as none of them has ever committed any violence.

I agree with your we are here for spiritual development theory. Dont agree that a youngster isn't developed spiritually. I do believe in God and am a lifelong Christian. I dont care about my bloodline, but I care about my kids more than myself. I now try to take care of myself so I can care for them. I have watched them grow spiritually and they are 3 and 6. It is my goal for them to be better people than me. I didn't want kids and I dont care if they want to have kids, having kids doesn't make you a better person. It does give you chances to be a better person.
