Worth of a 1965 Massey Ferguson

Start a little high unless you’re in a hurry to sell. I sold my L275 two years ago and started around $3700, then dropped my price by $100 every week. Somebody finally bought it for $2700. In my case it was in rough shape and I was being a little choosy about who I sold it to, the buyer runs a dirt work company so understood tired iron.
You can always come down yet you will never get more than your asking price.

You know when selling things, its always important to get the most who doesnt want the most. But people also quible over a few buck a machine that in all reality isnt worth anything, might be to the owner but in general isnt. When I am ready to sell I want it gone, either want to move on and buy something else, be rid of it. Things sitting around cost money and are liabilities plain and simple. If my stuff doesn't sell in a week its rare, my neighbor has about 7k on an old what looks to be JD 50hp tractor been for sale sitting out front for 4 years.

There's a happy medium between practically giving stuff away and trying to sell for twice what it's worth.

I sold one, just like yours, two years ago. $4,700.
It had been in the family since new.
Was the only tractor on my in laws 55 acre farm. Worked hard -- overworked!
Very reliable. Good parts support. Easy to maintain.

GREAT tractor.

Aww man. I’m looking for one as a 2nd tractor but we are 900 miles apart.

I see the MF135 as being a wonderful old vintage tractor. THey have all the advantages of being vintage USA....and the disadvantages as well. They are bulletproof with increadible reliability and able to be fixed and maintained by the owner. Parts are available for inexpensive and the the tractor itself is affordable to buy and own for the guy who likes mechanical things. All this can be really important to somebody just getting started. For that person, having gasoline over diesel doesn't hurt. In fact it may help.

Keep in mind that these are 3pt tractors. The weight distribution, gears & steering, front end , small hydraulics, and even the way it is built as unit construction without a frame .... these all combine to make it a good 3pt tractor but not so good as a platform for a loader tractor.

As for price, from the photo it seems to have the condition and some of the extras. I assume everything is working right. If so, the price around here would vary from $2500/3000 if it runs good, has all the 3pt parts, everything works, and it has a smooth powerful 3pt action. But it could go for twice that if it is the Deluxe model 135 with optional Power Steering and the powershift H/L multispeed tranny. Of those things, the power steering is far and away the most important thing.

8N痴 go for $2000 all day long, and the MF135 is a better tractor. I壇 ask $3000+

locally any of the early ford's go for 1200-1500 in very good running condition. rarely more than that.
