After owning a DR trimmer for four years, I needed some parts. I ordered on line, a little irritated that the three things would fit in a padded envelope, but I would get screwed paying $17 shipping for a box of air. Oh well. Sign of the times, right?
After a week of being run around, and another half of a week of shipping, I get one thing today. Precut trimmer line to use with the new trimmer head. Problem is, the head has not shown up, and the replacement belt is still MIA.
When I call, it’s a 25 minute wait and either I need to get back to work (twice) and hang up, or I FINALLY get a person who says the order shipped, but the credit card rejection wasn’t really a rejection.... they didn’t have the parts. Then today, I get one of five parts, totally useless without the others. Why is Customer Service so hard to find today?

Because companies only want to fool you into buying their stuff, with fancy marketing, and then do everything in their power to not spend any more money than absolutely necessary supporting what they sold you.

I love the trimmer. It’s actually been good. No issues in 4 years. I wouldn’t say it’s junk. At 6’-5”, pushing beats bending over a weed wacker. Just ticked they are irresponsible.

Just think that lawnmower service centers and dealers go through this very same thing every day. And the customer blames the dealer because it takes 3 months for their parts to show up.

I really doubt companies do not give a **** about servicing customers. A bad reputation is not conducive to growing a business.

Careless employees are everywhere. I short polite note to the President of the company may help get attention and alerts the guy in charge if he has internal problems. Many times the head guy is not aware of how the minions are doing.

I was in charge of a small $20 million company and have seen stuff happen that should not have.

They only care to the extent that it doesn't cost them anything. Don't you see, that so much of the world has this short sighted view? It's only how the next quarter is going to look.

Shipping is so expensive because they are shipping parts one at time, instead of putting all the parts in one container.
