SA324 Backhoe Attachment

I said 660 because the tractor I thought I was buying had a photo with the hoe on it and I remembered a B6 on it in the same spot of the picture you posted. It could have very well said B65. As I said the tractor delivered was a different serial number from the one I ordered. When I mentioned to him that I thought the tractor was under powered for that hoe I went back to the website to download a picture of the tractor I thought I was buying and it had been deleted. Remember this was over a year ago and I'm going from memory although I do still have all our e-mail correspondence.

Either way, they should not be selling these with Ansungs. It could possibly be a bait-and-switch, or as I said, a serious disservice to their customers at the very least. I'd dig deeper. I looked at my own paperwork from my dealer today, and the TLB series just has one model number, with no backhoe model broken out. It's theoretically possible that the dealer is taking advantage of that. I sent you a PM with what I suspect is the dealer name.

I just sent my 4th and final e-mail to Yanmar almost begging them to respond. I identified myself and requested they read this thread before responding so they had a complete heads up. As I said they failed to respond in the past but hopefully they will this time. You can't blame just the dealer. He is a representative of Yanmar and if he is less than honest Yanmar needs to take corrective action. As I said previously silence is consent when your partners are dishonest.

Yanmar SHOULD have every interest in making sure the dealer experience is a positive one, especially where accurate delivery of proper equipment is concerned. I'm very interested to hear how they handle this case, as it may affect my own willingness to deal with Yanmar in the future.

AZdesertrat, thank you for reaching out. We are sorry to hear you are having issues with your aftermarket backhoe attachment. We did receive your email yesterday and our Regional Sales Manager in charge of Arizona will be calling you today to discuss this matter further

Glad to see Yanmar is taking this issue seriously. Hopefully they will determine whether the dealer in question is passing off 3rd party backhoes as Yanmar OEM equipment. Whether they are doing so transparently or not, no reputable dealer would push 3rd party 3-point hitch backhoes on customers buying brand new machines where there is OEM equipment that properly integrates with the tractor's design and proprietary mounting system. This is the case with Yanmar's SA and YT series, which use a high-quality factory engineered 4-point mount with dual retainer pins. Judging by the photos on this dealer's website and visitor-posted images on Google reviews, they sell no machines whatsover with OEM backhoes (SA or YT series), and none even from other manufacturers whose lines they carry who also offer OEM backhoes. Very sketchy, very suspicious, and possibly very dangerous for customers.

Last year I purchased a new SA324 with a bucket, forks, gannon box and what I thought was a BH660 backhoe like Yanmar recommends. When the
tractor was delivered it had a BH760 installed. When I contacted the dealer and told him I felt the tractor was too small and under rated for this size hoe
he gave me a story about how the SA324 motor was rated at 24hp but was actually in the 27hp class and the hoe would be fine. I didn't buy it and I have tried to contact Yanmar 3 times and they don't respond back. This tractor is flat scary to drive on anything but hardpack. That extra couple of hundred pounds back there makes the tractor extremely light on the front end and near impossible to steer in soft soil. It goes where it wants not where you aim it.
I have about 10,000 hrs. combined between a Case 580D hoe, a Michigan 35A Loader and a John Deere 444 loader so it's not like I'm new to this. Has anyone else had similar issues with there tractors. This dealer pulled a few other things over this sale and he's about ready to get a visit from Arizona
AG because of his refusal to make things right. My problem is I have tried to make Yanmar aware of this 3 times regarding the hoe and the tractor financing and some other issues and they have failed to respond. In my book silence is consent and that makes them part of the problem instead of part of the solution. I would not recommend a Yanmar tractor to anyone if this how they deal with customers.

Hi AZdesertrat:

I read your posts, did some research, and discovered that you purchased this tractor from our dealership in early May of 2018. First and foremost, I respectfully and sincerely apologize that you are unsatisfied. While we have no record of you contacting us about this issue, it doesn’t change the fact that we guaranty satisfaction on purchases from us. You (of course) are no exception, Tim.

I understand from your posts that the tractor is now 1 ½ years old and you have used it. We are blessed to have been in business for 21 years and gratefully serve 400+ tractor customers each year because we take care of our customers, and we would not ever want you to feel stuck with a tractor that you don’t like. Please return the tractor to our dealership so that we may provide you with a FULL 100% Refund of the Purchase. Kindly contact me (Ana) as soon as possible to coordinate your return of the tractor so we can be ready.

Tim, I am sorry that it did not work out the way we all wish it would have, however, we want to make things right. We do appreciate the opportunity and are sure you will find the right tractor for you in the future.

Sincerely, Ana

I don't plan on cutting my losses. My attorney will be the AG of Arizona who happens to oversee the consumer affairs dept. This tractor currently has less than 10 hours on it. I bought it last year but because of my health I wasn't able to use it and it sat in my garage. I purchased this tractor because of the good things I heard about Yanmar. The dealer is over two hundred miles away from me and everything was done either through his website or over the phone. With him being Yanmar's largest dealer in the Southwest and Yanmar underwriting the loan I had no reason to believe everything would not be on the up and up. This is why I feel Yanmar is complicit in this. After all, the dealer is their representative and they're responsible for his actions when they're underwriting the equipment. As a side note I'm a two tour Vietnam combat veteran who is 100% service-connected disabled and I purchased this tractor to work around my property in my final years and now I can't even do that because the tractor is unsafe the way it is. I even rigged up a mount for my portable O2 tank and it worked great for the short amount of time I drove the tractor. All I want is what I paid for- no more, no less. If I lose money on this I guarantee you that dealer and Yanmar will lose a lot more than me because I will spend every last dying day bad mouthing them 24/7 to every potential buyer that will listen.

Let's get some things straight here so everyone knows what is going on. I know Yanmar talked to your other half because I just got off the phone with them. You know I had issues from the beginning so please don't act so innocent and please don't quote scripture when you're not sincere about it. When the tractor was delivered it had 2.6 hours and now has less than 10 so don't act like your doing me some huge favor if I return the tractor. You know I'm a 100% disabled veteran and it will be difficult for me to return when you are 200+ miles away. If you give me a refund what about my outstanding loan for the tractor? If I sound skeptical and ungrateful it is because of your track record with me and that is what I told Greg from Yanmar. He asked me what would make me happy and I told him it was very simple. 1) Exchange the backhoe on the machine for the one Yanmar approves. 2) Give me the 5ft. gannon box I ordered instead of the 4' box which is still sitting in a crate in my garage where your delivery guy and I put it. 3) Correct the loan paperwork with the finance company so the serial number on the tractor matches like you told me you would do 15 months ago and still have not. The backhoe is also in basically unused condition. I have not done any digging with it.

P.S. You can also have back the tool kit you gave me. Your other half told me as a sign of appreciation for purchasing the tractor he was throwing in a
special tractor tool kit that was worth $500. Turns out it's a cheap Chinese suitcase toolset that sells on eBay for $79.95. It too is brand new and untouched.
