SA324 Backhoe Attachment

I agree with Rutman. Get your money back. Go get yourself a new SA324 or 424 from an honest dealer that's actually selling Yanmar spec TLBs. Or if you can swing it, get a YT235. I hope this experience hasn't turned you off to Yanmar, as they make amazing machines with a lot of smart design thinking in the details.

Yanmar needs to look into why that dealer apparently doesn't sell TLBs with actual Yanmar backhoes. I cannot imagine any of the reasons are good. Either that dealer is:

1. Sorely misinformed about proper equipment, so much so they don't understand the difference between integrated BH mounts and subframes vs. 3-point backhoes and the safety, machine longevity, and ease of operation issues involved. Which begs the question, why are they selling tractors?? OR...

2. They're moving more TLBs at a lower cost by undercutting honest dealers in AZ who are selling TLBs with proper OEM equipment, OR...

3. Worst case scenario, they're purposefully adding cheap Ansung backhoes for unsuspecting TLB customers, selling at a normal MSRP for Yanmar spec'd TLBs, and pocketing the difference. Helped, of course, by the fact that both the Ansung and the Yanmar backhoes are painted black.

4. Some combination of the above.

What happened to AZdesertrat was likely a slip-up on their part, where they accidentally shipped an SA-324 with one of the Ansungs they normally put on a YT-series tractor (instead of the OEM BH75, 80, or 90). If they were properly equipping TLBs with the backhoes designed for each respective Yanmar tractor, it's doubtful this would have happened.

The bottom line is: there's no good (or honest?) reason to sell a brand new SA-324 or any current Yanmar compact tractor with a 3rd party 3-point backhoe. That's like selling Corvettes with engines from Mitsubishi hatchbacks, or new Lincolns with lawnchairs for seats.

I will settle for getting my money back but I still need assurance about the loan issue being resolved and I don't trust this guy. That post from AnnaTractor about their guaranteed customer satisfaction is total B.S. The last conversation I had with him last summer about my purchase issues he told me to contact his attorney back east. This guy has a degree in Psychology from Harvard and he uses it to manipulate people. That post from AnnaTractor was to try to get some sympathy and make it look like I'm the one being unreasonable. Nothing pisses me off more than when less than honest people start quoting the bible. They delivered it and if they want it back they can come pick it up under the conditions I laid out. My offer of gas money was only if they delivered/exchanged the proper hoe and the gannon box that I paid for. He probably forgot about the bogus invoice he sent me describing a Yanmar model tractor that doesn't exist but yet that is what I supposedly purchased. I would bet money that the AZ AG would consider that fraud. I can say a lot more but I'm going to give him a chance to make things right one way or another. As I said in a previous post if he would have delivered the tractor with a 550
hoe I wouldn't have complained. All I want is something I can use, not something trying to kill me. As an after thought I'm pretty sure that in AZ if you commit a fraud against a senior citizen the penalties are stiffer.

Nice to hear. I put a ton of research into my purchase of the 424, and the backhoe configuration (mount style, ease of use/dismount, tightness to the chassis, ramp angles, etc) was a major consideration for me since I'm digging up a lot of small stumps on my property. Yanmar nailed the details on this, which is partly why I feel so bad for AZdesertrat.

You're right back to playing your games. I told you yesterday you can contact me through my email and told you my conditions. I do not wish to talk to anyone from your company on the phone. I want everything documented in writing so there are no misunderstandings. I will not respond to you through any more posts on this thread. You delivered the tractor and you can pick it up. You know your options. You haven't said one word about how my loan on the tractor will be handled. The ball's in your court and the shot clock is running out.

I wish it were that simple. They're offering a refund on what I paid them. The loan is through a third party that Yanmar uses. If you go back and read the posts you will see that the tractor I purchased and is on the loan and the tractor that were delivered have different serial numbers. Both the dealer and the lender were made aware of this and he has refused to correct it. So far I've paid out over $9300, have an invoice for a Yanmar tractor of a model that doesn't exist and there is conveniently no serial number on the invoice and an outstanding loan with a third party of just over $12,000 dollars on a tractor that is who knows where and you don't understand what is so hard about this? If you read my posts I told them I need proof the loan is off the books. I wish it were as easy as you think it is. Their is a lot more to this than I have mentioned on this forum but for right now that is priviledged information and I am trying to give them a chance to correct this but my patience is getting thin.

From ysnmar build your own, they only offer a B65 backhoe for your tractor. So you bought a non yanmar backhoe, unknowingly.

So what happens if you stop making payments, since you dont have the model listed on your loan? Have you addressed this with loan company?

Sorry, I can't comment on that right now. Let's just say I'm satisfied my ducks are in a row. All the principals involved in this know where I'm at and I'm waiting for a response. There's enough information out there for people to draw their own conclusions. I'm hoping this will be resolved soon but I'm not
holding my breath.

Of course,.....you should "take the money"....... IF you can actually GET it ALL back!
I would not trust the basxxxds for one single minute!
Insist that you get the money back BEFORE they get the tractor!
Be careful...even with a bank check.
They could actually have the bank check stopped, before it can clear through your bank.

Yanmar regional manager/Yanmar corporate needs to take control of this situation!

Memo to self: Stick with Kubota! Avoid ANYTHING Yanmar!

will be. I've been preparing for Plan B but I'm hoping I won't have to go there. I've acquired a lot of information the past two weeks and I don't plan on
sitting on my hands and being cheated. I just got the bill for the foundation for my new shop and I had to pay $1500 extra for tractor work that I was supposed
to do but couldn't because the tractor is too unstable with that 1400# hoe attached to it. As an aside can anyone help me cut down on my research time and
tell me what federal agency oversees tractor manufacturers ? Thanks.

UPDATE- I would have taken a refund but no one would tell me how they would resolve the loan issue. Now it's a moot point. Monday the dealer sent his two best men on a 380 mile round trip to my home and traded out the Chinese BH760 for a Yanmar B65 backhoe attachment. The difference in handling is night & day. They also exchanged the 4' box scraper for a 5' one. A special shout out goes to DON THOMAS, national sales manager for Yanmar USA. Thanks to his intervention in this matter the issue has been resolved to my satisfaction. I know Don's a very busy guy and I really appreciate the amount of time he spent with me. After using the tractor yesterday for a couple of projects my faith has been restored that I made a smart decision when I chose the Yanmar brand. Thanks again, Don.

I would also like to thank VeRV77 for his input. He gave me some information that really assisted me in my research. As I said when I started this thread I was very familiar with some types of heavy equipment but the world of sub-compact tractors was new to me. Thanks.
