Finally got the new tractor Friday afternoon. Doesn't have my weights, third function, or canopy installed yet, but I was tired of waiting and needed to get some things done so I took it as is. I'll put all that other stuff on as time allows.

Brought it home and moved the front tires side to side to get maximum width out of it. The dealer said that Kubota has a strict policy about moving the front wheels out so they wouldn't do it, but I was welcome too. Its perfect, now both front and rear are right at 84 which is the same width as the bucket.

The left front tire does contact my down exhaust at full crank, but its not bad, and I think I can modify the pipe and it will be just fine.

Ran it 5 hours yesterday mowing pasture behind the house. I love it! Its a WAY better machine than the Massey Ever thought about. Pulled my 8ft Bush Hog with ease. Mowed some pretty heavy stuff and it never bogged down at all. Feels pretty stable so far, but I'm still getting used to it. I don't have a level spot on my 20 acres, and there are a few spots that can make a guy nervous. I love the bigger radial tires. Mowed in 540rpm and 540E both just to try it. Both worked well. Lowered the RPM about 400 rpm between the two. I'm not for sure how much fuel I really used yesterday, but I used 3/4 of a tank in those five hours. Makes me think the tank isn't a very big, or it's really drinking some fuel. Hopefully that might get a bit better as it gets broke in.
I have three major complaints about the tractor, and surprisingly they all have to do with the shuttle.
1.The end of the shuttle lever hits me directly in the center of my knee when in reverse. I'm a big guy, 6’3” and maybe most people wouldn't have that issue with shorter legs, but its REALLY annoying to me. I have to make a conscious effort to keep my knee out of the way when I shuttle to reverse. I think I can take the lever off and maybe bend it up and forward to get it out of the way.
2.The shuttle takes a huge amount of movement to use. This may just be normal, but its certainly different that the Massey was. The Massey has a small lever that you could control with two fingers, and it was close enough to the steering wheel that you could shuttle it with two fingers and never take your hand off the wheel. The 7060 has a 8-10 inch sweep from forward to reverse, and a more relevant detent, so it takes more of an effort to do. I'm sure I'll get used to it, and it will just be second nature then.
3.The 4WD button is behind the guard for the shuttle. Its just bad ergonomics on Kubotas part! You have to reach around the guard/lever to push the switch. It needs to be put over in the right side of the station with all the other controls. I may see if I can move it over there if the wiring looks easy to splice into.
Overall, I think its a GREAT tractor, I wish I had bought one a few years ago when I bought the Massey. Live and learn!

Regarding - the shuttle lever hits you in the knee. Move the steering wheel to the upper most position. Move the seat to a more rearward position. This might get that lever away from your knee. Like me, you will get use to the shuttle lever movement. My 4WD engagement is a T-bar down on the floor.

Lordy - you have a whole LOT of grass to mow. I have 80 acres and, right now, only dead bunch grass and gigantic Ponderosa pines.

I think I have them fixed.

One other small complaint I have is the PTO switch. In its current location when I am holding on to the handle on the fender my arm lays right across it and kicks it off once in awhile. In Kubota’s defense your probably not supposed to be on a bank so steep that you are holding yourself in the seat with that handle.IMG_3413.JPG

Don't know what differences there are between your open station and my cabbed M7060 but 3/4 of a tank in five hours sounds excessive to me. The tank on mine holds about 23 gallons and mowing all day @ 540e PTO speeds I use barely over a quarter tank of fuel. I can easily work 3 days on one tank of diesel. But I've got ~ 352 hours on mine now so maybe that makes a difference if yours is completely new and tight. I was very pleasantly surprised with how easy on fuel this Kubota is, given that it has a DPF and has to regenerate every so often. It does every bit as well as my old 56 hp John Deere 2020.

Don’t get excited about fuel usage based on gauge readings. It is not even worthy of discussion (but will probably go on for several
pages). Start with a full tank, do a defined amount of area or time, and measure the quantity required to refill.

One side of weights on! The weights have been a bit of an issue with the tractor too. When I sent my quote to the dealer it had three sets of rear wheel weights, three per side. And it is worded (in my opinion) like each weight is 164 lbs. so I thought I was getting three sets of rear wheel weights each weight weighing 164 lbs. in realty I got two sets (4 total) with each weight weighing 82 lbs. according to the dealer Kubota will only let you hang two weights per side off the cast wheels. He did knock money off for that third set so I suppose he made it right. I may buy another set and put on though. I was worried about them sticking past the rim, and a third set would be perfect.

The two set limitation is dumb, as you doubtless have figured out. If you were to fill the tires you would have more than 250 lbs in each. There’s no restriction on liquid ballast.

It will probably end up with washer fluid in the rear tires. I can buy it super cheap at work, and this tractor will always be parked in a heated shop so I’m not worried about anything freezing.
