I just bought a BH 2815 Cutter because of the quality AND High BTS.

It cuts great : no complaints.

I was wondering if anybody has experience with the grass & cornstalk baffle Kit # 50069451 ?

It’s supposed to help windrowing in heavy grass

I bought a new BH 2815 & Love it.
I purchased a baffle kit & picked it up at the BH Factory in Selma AL as I’d always wanted to go there.
The Batwing cuts fantastic.
It cuts much finer clippings with the baffle kit bolted on.

I appreciate the finer cutting with the baffles. How ever, I have tore up 2 sets of them when mowing with a wing in tipped down position such as hanging over a creek bank no matter how slight the angle. Talked to a Rep at the area farm show about the them. Told that the engineers hated them and said not to use them in my application. Salesman loved them when demonstrating on flat ground because of the fine cut and great looking finished job.

Yes I could see them making contact very easily with the blades.
Especially backing up onto objects as the baffles wrap around beside & partially to the back of the blades.

That is why Dealers don’t order cutters installed with them : to save themselves the headaches lol

They are ONLY good in a stump free application where their is absolutely NO Blade to Ground contact & that’s very rare for most pastures & fields.

They are mostly installed to shred row cropping Stalks in smooth flat fields.

Did you wind up removing them ?

That is an awesome cutter. Congrats on it. What tractor are you using to pull it, curious if your 5085 handles it just fine. Do you ever cut anything getting up to the 4" capacity?

I’ve only ran it with my 5101E so far.

I’ve only cut thick grass in a field at 5.5”

After 20+ yrs i’ve Finally gotten rid of all the stumps & rocks :D

My 85E would handle it fine staying off steep hills and / or chest hi grass.
