I am looking for a way to keep people from turning around in my driveway. This happens all the time. One person actually drove in my lawn to turn around and put ruts in my grass. I put signs up and also put a split rail corner on each side which didn't seem to help. I was going to put a gate up with a mighty mule gate remote opener.

Then I thought that it would be less invasive to put a chain across. I don't want to have to move the chain every time I need to enter the driveway. If I could put a wooden post on each side of the driveway and connect the mighty mule gate opener on the one side, I could use that to lower and raise the chain. I would mount the Mighty Mule vertically and put the chain on the end. This would raise the one end of the chain up and down which would be enough to run over it when it is down. Here is a picture of my driveway entrance. I am open to other suggestions.

Not a good place for people to turn around anyways being that you are on a curve.

We have people turn around in our driveway all the time. I've had friends park in our yard to go hunting with me and one of them actually pulled up into our flowerbed. I didn't say anything. Had some other friends come over to eat recently and they pulled into the yard, not in the driveway. I guess they're used to doing that when they come over for the kids birthday parties but the driveway is usually full.

Had a truck for sale recently parked in our front yard, man test drove it and spun out of our yard squealing tires. Ruts are still there, he didn't even buy the truck.

I drive through our yard all the time. I've actually gotten my own truck stuck hooking to a trailer and had to winch it out. Truth.

I learned from my dad, the more that gets torn up the less you have to mow.

A gate or chain should either do the job. I wouldn't worry about "invasive".

Problem with a chain is, someone is gonna try to turn around,
maybe at night, and not see it. then you've got to repair the post
or the opener. It costs more, but I would do a gate if I was bothered
by people using my drive.

A chain would also be easier and cheaper, that is why I opted for that.

How about a couple of orange cones for starters? Yeah you would have to get out and move them when you leave or enter but it's a cheap start.
