Do the misguided AGW zealots not realize that ALL the new data and information coming from actual scientific sources are reporting about how fouled up the temperature records and how they were obtained are. (Houston there is a problem)...

They are also revealing other newly discovered sources of warm water in the worlds oceans from within the Earth causing much of the melting ice in specific locations...

Heightened activity within the Earth (seismic, volcanic, etc...) is a cause of climate change...not a symptom...
Sooner or later all the misguided sheep are going to be in for a startling revelation and are going to have to admit that they had the whole **** thing all wrong...

Richard - could you provide the references that you've used to make these claims so that the rest of us could investigate their legitimacy?

WAIT, we still live on beautiful Mother Earth, and we have actually in the US improved our environment in the last 40 years!

In 1957 I was a 15 year old kid living in the mountains of Co.and my Mom wanted to visit her sisters who lived in Ca. so we got on a train and headed for L.A. . Some of my cousins took me to the beach and I was amazed that you could look at the sun and it was just a big orange ball but we still got sun burned, at least I did. When I asked one of my uncles what the deal was he said "It's just smog, no big deal, you shouldn't trust air that you can't see". I had burning lungs and watering eyes all the time we were there.

I moved to Southern Ca. in '86 and everything had changed,the only time I see smog now is at the foot of the hills N.E. of San Bernardino and that area, and that's only in the afternoon when the sea breeze pushes the air from the L.A. basin up against the hills and they slow it down.It's amazing what all the automotive changes that we all complained about when they started have done. This is just a local problem and has been pretty much taken care of, now try to get the rest of the world to try it. Fat chance.

I think localized air pollution can be controlled ,if there is the political will, but in the big scheme of things Mother Nature will continue to change the climate as She has from the beginning of time until the end of time.It isn't my fault and I don't owe some phony politician a dime for it.

IMO the knowledgeable say Climate Change is real and it's caused primarily by humans. They use the acronym "AGW" which stands for Anthropogenic Global Warming. The word Anthropogenic means caused or produced by humans.

One of the brightest minds in recent history (Richard Feynman) says that "science is the belief in the ignorance of experts"...

As far as ice melting...As I said...in some locations newly discovered marine heat sources are responsible for some ice melting...in other places ice is expanding and some glaciers are growing...Other newly discovered and newly formed deep ocean heat sources are contributing to rising ocean temps...You can't have it both ways and be correct...

LoL...If you want to "investigate" something learn to do your own research...I didn't cite any specifics because there have been so many cases over the last 18 months or so...along with stories about how tainted data has been used etc...
Just watch and read reliable news sources...(I use Reuters) or learn how to search databases ...ALWAYS CONSIDER THE SOURCE...

Id say knowledgeable are those that can prove and readily duplicate their theories. So far man made global warming has been speculation and fearmongering.

On my lifetime ive witnessed less pollution, cleaner water, and cleaner air than when i was young.

Im tired of polit..people raising my taxes and taking my hard earned money to "fix" or "clean up" something i didnt break or mess up.

Im sorry, every one of those crooked b tards have their hands in the cookie jar, using this GW scam as a way to make themselves filthy rich. It's a con game. That has been proven by that Al guy.

Ohio was once a glacier, weather changes constantly, always has, always will. Hurricanes happen every year, yet look at all the idiots, starting with the weather channel, that act like this has never happened.

These are two separate issues.

Whether you believe that AGW (human caused global warming) is happening is one issue.

How you choose to react to AGW is a second issue and is ultimately up to you. You might say that you recognize that AGW is happening, but you're not willing to do anything about it. That's your decision.

It's not hypocritical to believe that AGW is happening and still drive cars, burn fossil fuels, etc. I believe that AGW is happening and do those things, because alternatives that make sense in my situation aren't yet available. I've looked at electric cars, but we don't live in the city where they might be practical. We did, for example, replace the electric baseboard heating in our house with a heat pump, which cut our electricity usage hugely.

My only interest, as far as this thread goes, is the first issue. I just can't understand how people cannot believe that AGW is happening. Like everyone(?) else on TBN, my scientific training is not in climate science, so I have no way to personally analyze the data and come to my own conclusions. Instead I believe what experts in the field are saying because I believe in the system of checks and balances of peer-reviewed studies.

What's a "Peer-reviewed study"? Say you asked a question on TBN about a maintenance issue with a Kubota tractor and instead of anyone in the world chiming in with an answer those comments had to go through a screening by folks who had decades of experience in servicing those tractors. You'd trust those answers a lot more than comments from some anonymous poster who may or may not know what they're talking about, right?

Any of us who have lived 50+ years have enough experience to know, anecdotally, that our climate is changing. I believe that the cause is AGW because I believe in the scientific process. As I wrote above, I didn't understand how others couldn't come to the same conclusion. I did a bit of Googling about "distrust of science". This article pretty much sums it up for me.
