I have a Marlin 30-30, great deer gun, but after the hunt and before I get in the Jeep, it's jack and rack cause I think it's against the law to have a loaded gun in a vehicle, I think.

I believe it depends on the state in which you reside. I never drive to hunt, just walk out the back door... and I'm hunting!

I'd like to have something like that, that will straighten out a 8'-20' board, everytime I let broads dry they get crooked. Maybe a kiln would solve the crooked board problem, stack them then clamp the broad down with 100 ton clamps or a giant press.

I've gone to stacking mine and then ratchet strapping the bundle to control some of that twisting . Harbor freight has packs of ratchet straps on sale for $6.99 all the time. When I first started milling my own wood about a year and a half ago I remember seeing pics of people with cinder blocks and anything else heavy on their piles.. I thought there better be a better way.

I was in the driveshed tonight. The whole shed smells of that stuff. Kind of like apple, but not quite. I had thoughts that it would have made furniture wood, but am telling myself that it wasn't straight enough.

Any chance you have sweetgum up there?

I think liberty Maine is a good bit farther than 29 miles but I壇 want $200 to deliver 3 rick 30 miles. That痴 a tight hand tossed load that痴 bigger than I usually haul. I壇 say it痴 closer to 4 rick.

Hauling some logs from my woods over to my sawmill..



After first load (pyramid stacked) I found out they were hard to get off the trailer with the grapple, so I put landscape timbers between levels and fixed the problem.

Pics were taken with my phone in the upright position, look fine on my phone and the computer, they get sideways loading them here for some reason!! Grrrr

I was going to try that but if I damage the line then I have a bigger problem that will require fuel line hunting and or a trip to the tractor store and more speaking in tongues. I usually have better luck un-clamping a line then sticking a bolt in the end, if the end gets damage then I can cut a inch off for a new section, theoretically of coarse............

Some places (maybe harbor freight or NAPA) carry a special pair of pliers especially for crimping hoses, they kind of look like a cross between vice grips & small needle nose pliers, they have flat pads instead of teeth that just gently pinch the hose shut, but no sharp edges to puncture the hose. I bought a pair & thought i'd only use them once, but I use them a lot more often than I thought.

I have been here a while and this is the heaviest wood I have ever processed. Dark color, smells kind of weird and gets into your sinuses. The heviest rounds at the trunk I could not even think about lifting and had to move them with a grapple.

I remember cutting a couple apple trees that smelled kind of like funky cheese.
