Thatç—´ top dollar for it here. How much is other fuels in your area? I think even at that rate itç—´ a loosing proposition for the buyer compared to natural gas.
I'm not sure about other fuel prices, I'm a wood burner and want to keep burning wood as long as I can, but it's getting harder every year. The big thing in this sate now is that Heat Pump System, I keep hearing nothing but good, in a couple years I might go that route.

Last spring I was thinking of going the NG or Propane way, I even gave a hard look at instant water heaters til I started reading all of the maintenance list on them, and then when I watch the news and I see a house blown up,,,, so as of now I scratched that of a heat list and drew the line at one gas cook stove, thats pretty much set it and forget it til breakfast and supper..............

My mother just had a heat pump water heater installed. It wasn't on her list, but when her leaking boiler was replaced they convinced her that it would be cost effective and reduce the excess dampness in the cellar. So far it seems to work well, and as a bonus she has constant hot water rather than turning the heater on and waiting for it to heat up, the way she's been doing it for 80 plus years.

Me thinks that might be a pinch point and very awkward for people like me with big thumbs, what we need is a race of loading and unloading a Henry, vs side gate loading.
I'd lose that race every time, I just can't bring myself to jack the shells onto the ground and into the snow. I always wanted a deer rifle with a magaxine, and finally broke down and bought a Savage 99c in .308. That was 3 or 4 years ago and although I did fire it to ensure that it works and mounted a scope I still haven't even sighted it in. After using a 30-30 for all of my hunting career, that Savage is way too heavy and bulky.

Nice video. I meant your tractor. Would you say its wood gathering see's most of its use? The little tractor I have is 21 hp at the pto, would it run that winch. 28hp engine horsepower, hydrostatic. I will get a winch, still think about it often, but Just getting the garage up finally, and house in the spring I'm hoping.

When I bought mine tractor they said that they dont recommend a pto winch on a tractor smaller then the L2800. My L3400 is same size just a hair bigger motor and 2 stage clutch, after 12 years of winching I wouldn't put a winch on a smaller tractor then the L2800.

Garage is a lot of work glad I had my son to build mine, heres some pics from 5 years ago...........

That sounds like a long distance sit down field rifle, My Henry 44 mag is noticeably lighter then my 30-30 Marlin, which is a good thing because I dont like sitting I mostly do tree hunting and sightseeing and the weight loss is a side effect...........

One time when I was scrounging for some easy quick wood I unknowingly put some Bass Wood in the wood shed. It was the heft of average hard wood, like Red Maple, going into the shed but after it dried and going into the stove it was the heft of Balsa Wood. Not much heat in it at all. The end grain had a waxy yellowish look to it. Back in the days of yore the guys in the pattern/model shop used Bass Wood a lot.

I thought ash was the quick&easy scrounging firewood. I cant remember if I ever cut down a basswood tree or not but I remember it from somewhere. You even seen it sawed into lumber? Seems so it would make good boards.

So does this Heat Pump heat the house to? And what water heater did mother need to turn on, something like fill a ten gal pail up on a wood fired cook stove? Maybe thats the secret to be 80+ years young. My 35 year old electric is on a 6 hr timer in the evening.

I wouldn't have a heat pump in my house to save my soul!! Hate them with a passion. They blow air out at about 88 degrees, to raise the house temp from say 68 to 72 they work.. But I'm 98.6 degrees and the only time I was cold in my house with a heat pump as when it was working!! Blowing 88 degrees air on a 98.6 degree body. NEVER AGAIN!

And I have ZERO maintenance problems with my on demand water heater (electric)been going 2+ years and NO maintenance issues yet!

Houses blow up??

I have a heat pump and it is efficient and little maintenance. They are best in moderate climates like ours. I burn wood when in the 30s and below since they are not ideal in low temperatures. Newer units can go well below mine. When the termperature is moderate outside and we use the heat pump the electric bill only goes up by $20 or $30 a month.
