No.

They are going to stop AR15 sales to civilians and concentrate on govt contracts.

Actually yes. Because AR-15s are not military rifles. So they will continue building military models like the M4.

Make sense, because Colt's AR-15s were fairly expensive and there are a lot of less expensive models out there these days.

I went into the market some years ago already sold on a Colt. Found a much better buy I figured, in a S&W. I'm quite happy with my MP15 by Smith & Wesson. Do I get to keep it because it isn't an AR? :confused3:

For some reason the American public believes that just because a manufacturer provides a product to the US military, because it it "Mil Spec", the feeling is it has to be a superior product. Colt "AR" rifles was no where worth their name in their (Colt's) minds IMO.

The M&P15 is a great MSR.

You get to keep it because you bought it and own it. Nobody gets to take your property.

Very true...the Colt's had a reputation (years ago) for being jam-o-matics...

Long story short, Colt's rifles were overpriced:laughing:

And always were. I bought a CAR15 for $700 (Used) and a few years later (during the so called ban) sold it for $1500. I thought that was a pretty good profit margin.
