Usually, I count 2 years for soft wood and 4 to 5 years for hard wood drying time. I use a the second floor of the garage, no rain, but the wind can pass thru the wall.

Long ways between stickers seems like.

All mine is dried outside, 4 maybe 5 months for pine to get to about 10% and a little over double that for most hardwoods. 1x's.. thicker longer of course.

And subway??? Wont go anywhere near those places.. their pictures show a nice great big sandwich.. when you get it you cant even see if there's anything in there, the buns touch all the way across. If they looked like the pic, I'd probably go there..

It's YOUR choice how they make it, they put in it, what you tell them too... SO, you are the only one to blame...

That may be working for you, but it's not properly stickered and wouldn't work where I live.

With just air drying how do you treat the lumber for insects like powderpost beetles etc...

Drying/heating to an internal temp of 140* is usually what it takes for us to be sure...

NO!! NOT true... On their advertising pics they pile it HIGH, in the real world they do not!

Not talking about what ingredients but how much of them.

Yup bad for me, It'll will be a cold day in upper mid west before go to a Chinese restaurant, I'll take McDonalds any day of the week and get a cheese burger with fries and shake and or BK, Chick-fa-lay, KFC, yup I'm a fan of fast food, I like burgers the best. I went to Long Horns last spring with the fam, haven't back since, good food but wait and wait to get a seat then wait some more in a middle of a loud crowd, I felt like walking out and going to McDonald's but the wife kept giving that look.............

It was such a good afternoon that I had to stop painting and go take a ATV ride with a side mission of getting a little storm damage firewood. I couldn't find much because we had no storm big enough to cause tree damage for several years, but did find a few sticks just so I know the wife is going to get chilly this week after hearing the latest weather.

Starting to look like firewood cut up might come a week early this year, I dont think it even got to 70* today with all that sunshine.......
