It depends what kind of truck and where in the country. I make a lot more than a waitress. Was listening to some trucker show on XM coming home last night. Between all the crazy rules, techology and rigs like that, it hardly seems right that drivers now make about 1.8 times what a waitress makes! FAR, down from the hey day of a lucrative trucking carreer.
Depends... I was talking to the bar tender chick a few weeks back... She said that she averages $35-$40 an hour. Not bad.It depends what kind of truck and where in the country. I make a lot more than a waitress.

1.8 is almost twice what a waitress makes. The guy on the show, who I think said he was a pilot, kept comparing commercial pilots to truckers saying how underpaid the truckers were. Seems like a stretch to compare the two. But certainly the responsibility of a trucker warrants better pay, than what it has devolved to, in the grand scheme of things. Little wonder there is a driver shortage nationwide and young kids aren't interested.
What’s it going to be when driverless trucks get on the road?
