Hernia surgery

   / Hernia surgery #11
Just had one done Wednesday. So all this sitting around healing has me going stir crazy. Got a party to go to Saturday. So I will at least get out of the house for a while.

Cannot imagine being home bound as a permanent condition. Ugh.

Hope you heal fast!

I go back to work on Monday. I've been off for two months with just a broken finger. I'm still gonna be on restricted duty for another month.

It is no fun when an active person is stuck in the house.

I had double hernia surgery two years ago. I was sore for a few days but it wasn’t too bad after about five days. Three small incisions. I had surgery on Tuesday and went back to work on Friday (desk job). The big thing to me was I was training for a marathon and wanted to delay surgery for a few months but the doctor convinced me I was playing with fire. I agree when he said I only had to give up running for a week. I wound up not running for a week and it bothered me to run for a couple of weeks but the doctor said I really couldn稚 hurt anything.

I had my right side done last year and my left side done about 15 years prior. The scar on my right side is about 4 inches long, I think the left was about the same. Both were considered large since I put both of them off before having them done. I never missed work, just did light duty. My right side surgery was on a Monday and the very next weekend I was brush hogging, I just ran the tractor a little slower. About the same only time I overdid it was when I forgot and picked up my 40 lb Border Collie. Ouch, hurt like heck.

I had one done by an egotistical idiot and one done by a skilled surgeon. A skilled surgeon is the way to go.

I've had 2...one as a child (mid 1950s), the other about 5 years ago. The childhood one left a scar several inches long, the more recent one nothing visible.
I think I took a couple days off work for recovery, but all in all it wasn't a big deal. I did have to wear an elastic corset-y thing for a couple weeks. I went home same day as the surgery.
No after effects.

They must have poked a few holes in you, pumped you up with gas and done the second one remotely. That's how my second
was done.

I did some loader work today. Moved and spread the manure pile. Stayed seated in the tractor the whole hour or so I was working. Finally got to me. I could feel all the bumps.

However I could go to work on Monday. Given I scheduled the day off I will do some work from home and get some of my lighter honey do list completed.

Still have a 5 pound lift limit at least until I see Dr on Friday morning.

Either Friday afternoon or Saturday morning 3 hr or so drive to Wisconsin.

I'll always remember a 30 year old women that I saw in a hospital while I was in rehab after my motorcycle accident, her kidney's were so bad she was never going to leave that hospital, there are so many people in a similar situation. Anytime I feel down about something, I think of her...

Amen. It can always be worse and we should be thankful for what we have.

We had a friend that died about that age of Kidney failure as well. She was a sweetheart. Such a shame.
