Roger that, I wish I had bought one before all the John Deeres, Kubotas, Fords, Pasqualis, Goldoni, Gravelys and Steiner that I bought and tried in order to find the most useful tractor.

It's been reported that PTs are better than any CUT ever made. :)

Different yes. Personally I wouldn’t be quick to give up not having implements on both ends. I’ve never run a PT but I have run bigger loaders with the smallest being about 8,000 pounds and I wasn’t a huge fan of that. It’s excellent for what it’s made for but I would take a skid steer over it for most things.

Skid steers make a mess of the terrain, ok on a construction site, not good to keep using in same place year after year. And really difficult to get in and out (don't want to do it dozens of times every hour especially if you have had more then 50 birthdays) , not the greatest when working alone, cant even get out with the implement raised to hook up a chain etc.
Skid steers will never have implements on both ends for a reason.

Skid steer machine definitely have their place; they do allot, but they make a mess of a yard quick. Also, they have a really bad blind spot I do not like, and are not agile or nimble for smaller type of work.

I used the forks to move a couple things, put mower on and cut my lawn, used the hitch to move my loaded trailer, then put the bucket on to gather firewood. All of those attachments I hooked and unhooked in short periods of time with ease and got allot of work done with the PT. I would not trade my 1430 for no other tractor or skid loader.

The bucket on the PT180 (the bottom line basic tractor) will stay exactly where you set it with the bucket control and as you raise the arms with the hoist control, it can go from moderately rolled back when low to spilling over on the backside when at full height (the angle of the arms to bucket stays consistent). If you watch close on the other PT models with the Z center linkage, the bucket uncurls as you hoist up, somewhat keeping the same angle from low height to raised (angle from loader arms to bucket changes). Loaders like Trojan or Deere, the bucket will stay at the same angle as you hoist up, it is very beneficial.

I thought that maybe the FEL curled as it was lifted, but I always scratched my head trying to understand what was happening. I still don't fully understand it. I know if I have the attachment tilted all the way back when the FEL is all the way down, that rod from the Z to the QA area hits the cross section pipe. Only when it's all the way down and tilted all the way back, though. I've heard someone on here saying about how they bent that cross section pipe on there 425 or 422. On mine the paint is worn off where it hits at. So, I just keep that in mind.

Skid steers make a big mess but the visibility is a lot better and they’re more precise than the loaders. My buddies loader is a ton lighter than a 95-2 Kubota skid steer. It lifts about the same but isn’t nearly as compact. And the loader is close to useless for a grading tool and the CTL is a first class grading tool. The ground destruction is one of the biggest reasons I didn’t buy one.

I my opinion, the Power trac are not true loaders even know they look like one. So when you are comparing your buddies loader, that is where your coming up short. The PT is, if I can borrow a CAT term, a tool carrier. When I first seen one on the net I thought they were ugly and there is a lot of old pictures/info that is obsolete. I can't say enough about the new ones, yes they have shortcomings and I really can't say what I would have if I could only have one tractor, but the PT might be it. I have more fun working with the PT then in my Kubota with heat/ac QUITE and above all, a radio.

They used to have 3pt hitch options, but once you get used to running implements in your front field of view, nobody wants to turn around backward to watch the implement as you are driving forward. Here is a link to show the 3pt if you are interested. It was top quality and could angle by raising one arm or both.
