The 3pt hitch started bouncing about a month ago. I replaced the o-rings and backers on the 3pt piston and it still bounces. Any ideas on what else could be causing the problem?

What do you mean by 'bouncing'? Do you mean while tractor is running and sitting still it moves up and down?

My (Kioti) shop manual shows how to adjust that out. No idea how to do it on your Branson, though. Do you have access to a Branson shop manual?

Is the 3pt position control being set for a given height, it then leaks down, valve sends more oil to cylinder to maintain set height, over and over. That would appear to be bouncing. Cylinder or valve leaking?

The answer to your question is yes.
I have copy of the service manual but it doesn't have any adjustments to make or much on troubleshooting.

It doesn't matter what position the lever is in, it still bleeds down and then jumps back up. I have replaced the o-rings in the cylinder with no change. I am leaning towards the lift control valve leaking, but I am open to any other suggestions.

Branson3520R, sounds like it needs what my manual refers to as "sensibility adjustment" (I think that is a typo as they call it sensitivity adjustment in the instructions below). There is an accompanying drawing I can scan if you want me to. Basically on the forward side of the 3pt (under the seat for me) there is a screw with a locknut.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the manual:

1. Position the rockshaft lifting arms, with a weight applied, so that they reach about half their angular movement range.
In this way the Control valve is positioned in its neutral phase.

2. Loosen nut "A" and turn the embedded hexagonal screw in a counterclockwise direction until the lifting arms start swaying continuously.

3. With a slow movement stop the movement of the arms by rotating screw "B" in a clockwise direction.

4. When the arms remain blocked in their position, which can be controlled by the relevant instrument positioned on the end of the lifting arms, rotate (clockwise) screw "B" for 1/2 - 3/4 of a turn max. Lock the position with the self locking nut "A".

5. In this way the Control Valve is sensitivity adjusted.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Does this sound like it might match what is happening to you?

Good find....what is it? Is it sealer, rubber from somewhere else in the system, o-ring?

It's what's left of one of the two o-rings between the lift control valve and the top plate for the 3pt hitch.20191014_104925.jpg20191014_104829.jpg20191014_104811.jpg20191014_104748.jpg
