You aren't looking hard enough. The average age of a car on the road in the U.S. is 11.8 years old. That means half of them are older than that. Let me say that again...
1/2 of all cars on the road today in the U.S. are older than 11.8 years.
That's noticeable to me when I travel to the Southwest. I get a kick out of spotting hundreds of cars still on the road that I haven't seen in decades up north. It's like time travel.
