GM trucks have slipped

I started seeing some ads for the new 1500 and HD series Chevy trucks. No doubt they are good vehicles but the front end on both trucks, especially the HD is really weird looking. Out of proportion to the rest of the truck.

In Michigan, average age is 10.5 years. Guess my 97 F350 qualifies as ancient. Pretty easy to tell it's a pre 98. It's OBS, long hood. Good thing it is. Makes that turbo diesel easier to service. 4 more years and I can get 'historical' plates.

I didn't buy it, my wife did and I suspect it will be here until we both pass. The quad would have been but my wife wanted a utility vehicle with a box to carry stuff. The quad was her's as well and she bought that in '95. Just put side mount mirrors on it. I have it fully 'farkled' up now. Mirrors, windshield, winch, front brush guard, turn signals, horn, mudflaps and electric bed lift. All that it lacks is doors and ac.

I’m doing my part to keep the average high. Limited to only the vehicles I have licensed and insured. I have a 1992, truck, 1990 truck, 1999 trailer, and a 2004 truck.

Ya sounds about right, the numbers are different depending on were you drive and what is observed..

I'm probably never will be a new vehicle buyer but I am sure seeing more Dodge trucks around here and a lot of those are owned by contractors and business people that tow...

Neighbor has owned all of them... all new... most trouble free get in and go was his old Diesel Excursion from the 90's///

He was not impressed by the replacement Fords and GM vehicles... he does like his Dodge and no complaints so far... he pulls 14k trailer up and down the state several days each week...

The kicker is he said he would never buy a Dodge... his family was old GM and the best man at his wedding owns a Ford Dealership... I guess never equals about 25 years?

Just bought me a new truck. 2002 F250 7.3L Texas truck 130K miles $13K. I'm very Blessed to have it.

Not bad. Just be apprised that the later 7.3's had sintered rods versus forged and they won't take much in the way of extra power.

I wouldn't mind a GM regular cab HD with the new 6.6 gas engine in custom trim.
