That was a nice drop, Gordon.

I do have to ask: are you expecting a flood? Those are some seriously "high-water" chaps.

Thanks John. There are lots of ways to fell a tree and everyone has there likes and dislikes but I thought that tree was a good one to demonstrate to those unfamiliar how useful the Swinging DutchMan cut can be and to see how it works. It does take some practice and results in a lot of pinched bars or misdirected felling type headaches at first.

I hear you on the 'high water chaps'. They are the first pair that I ordered from Labonville and their sizing is different from what I was used to so I ordered the wrong size. I decided to keep them for a year rather than deal with the hassle of returning them.

If a tree is in good shape I keep it for a boundary marker. Looks like the ants already headed south from that dead stump, and the ruining from that tree was excellent acting or was you showing off how young you are, me I only walk away then the tree has to atleast 2' on the stump with no hinge, like seeing someone using a saw with PPE..............

I would rather have an undisturbed survey pin that is shown on certified lot maps than a tree with red paint on it for a corner marker.

Made a new firewood holder. Plastic pallet, 2x4's and welded wire fencing. Will be able to move it with the tractor forks. Should be strong enough. Thinking about adding a ratchet strap or rope around the top of the 2x4's. I split the poplar and my favorite helpers loaded the rack! Team work makes the dream work!

That is slick! I have never seen the wire fencing used for that. Probably a lot more economical than IBC totes. Do you have a good source for plastic pallets in Chattanooga? I work in Monteagle.

The first pair of chaps I ever purchased was like that. I mistakenly thought the length measurement was an inseam measurement, In fact, most measure from the belt line to the bottom of the chaps. (Chainsaw pants do go by inseam measurement.)

I thought Labonville changed that crazy size system. I got bit by it too.

Cool weather finally got here We’ve split quite a bit of wood in the last couple weeks. Ok really I traded 6 hours of work on my backhoe to a guy and he’s split 5-6 loads on the big truck. IMG_7654.JPGIMG_7634.JPGIMG_7662.JPGIMG_7663.JPG

Yeah, when we bought this place I insisted on a full pin survey, good to know where your borders/corners really are in case there is ever a dispute!
