I've got 72 hrs on my new L6060 and I noticed the front tires have what appears to be stress makes developing already. I had similar signs on the rears of my previous tractor and had to replace the tires because they were leaking ballast through the tire. What causes this?

Also the second picture looks like a cut but I don't see any sign of entry marks. Is it possible this is a flaw.

how old is it? if you just got it the summer, I’d check with the dealer.

it also depends on what you’ve been driving on. the stress marks might be more likely to appear if you work on hard surfaces a lot vs just using it in a field.

that cut looks more like a split to me vs a cut, especially since it’s below the lug depth

I picked up the tractor in July of this year. I didn't think it was a cut but wanted another opinion.

Most of my driving is on dirt or gravel roads and some in grassed areas. No pavement, ever. I'm wondering if these are flawed tires. I have a SS with the same size R4 tires, with several hundred hrs on them and they do not have these stress marks on them. Also had the same size R4 tires on my 2 previous tractors and did not experience this issue with them.

First picture looks like dry rot, the second one looks like it was cut..

If that tire is on a less than 1 year old tractor,I would insist dealer help me get replacement(s). I suggest writing a return receipt letter TODAY addressed to mfgr and dealer. That will establish a timeline in the event they waltz you around until enough time passes they can declare "it's too late". If they stall, write another letter(s) mentioning concurn with personal safty such as operating on hillsides,on public roads and such. If your small claims courts are anything like Texas,I'm confident they would give you relief if all else fails but you'll need them letters if it drag's on in time. Texas SCC can't force defendant to do anything other than pay a certain amount. IMO,that would be better than new tires because you could apply settlement toward better quality tires. I don't have much experience with overseas tractor tires (never buy them) but have plenty with trailer tires, all of it bad. The bar in USA is set much lower for off road tires so retailers take advantage by selling junk.

There was another thread just like this not too long ago, but I don't remember enough details to search for it. Might have been Carlisle tires, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for that link. I read the whole thing and guess what, these are the same tires. I also noticed some more issues. Here are pics.

Can anyone tell me if the numbers in the last pic are the date code. If so, what date would this mean?

At first I thought it could be caused by tire spin on something but looking at it closer, that doesn't make sense. I would have to spin the tires in exactly the same place going forwards and backwards to get identical chips on both sides of the lugs. Plus they are centered all around the tire and the other tire looks the same but the chips are smaller.

Looks like I will be contacting my tractor dealer and discussing this with them plus I will contact Carlisle. Even if the tractor dealer says the tires are not a dealer warranty item, they should be aware of this issue and not put this tire on any other tractors they sell.
