The result of an unsecured load. He had OSB in the back with sacks of concrete on the cab end of the OSB. That's all. Half of the OSB and the concrete bags slid right out when he started up. He was by himself and a guy in the other lane stopped to help him resulting in the road being blocked for awhile. So, in addition to straps to keep stuff moving forward, also need straps to keep things from moving back.

Wonder if he would have put a few concrete bags at back of bed, not on tailgate, then load osb on them, angled down in the front. Then load the rest of the concrete bags on the front of the osb, would it have stayed in place? Jon

To me, I do not know why a person would put good money out for half of a pickup box. 8 foot box for me! Just my opinion...

....because they want a car: 4 doors, lots of passenger room, comfort, ride, primarily used for commuting...but their masculinity insecurities.....truck.

Even if some of the concrete bags were under the OSB and tilting it forward you still have a stack of slick OSB to deal with and its still unsecured. So better than what he did to start with but still not a secured load. It’s hard to do better than a strapped or chained load.

Yep! My wife drives an F-150 SuperCrew and we use it as a car. Great for traveling. When we haul something, my pickup with the 8 foot bed is used.

Because I want to haul my snow sled but still be able to pack a week’s worth of winter clothing in a dry, secure area; plus my computer, all of my work gear, dog, and often another passenger.

I always wonder why people are so insecure that they can’t accept that not everybody is just like them.

Im not, thats why my truck has a crew cab and a 9 foot flat/dump. It can move lots of stuff, but I prefer not and the dog likes the backseat uncluttered.:p

I have driven PU's all my life (other than Jeep CJ's I had as spare vehicles), my first 3 were 8 foot beds, and they served me well as a young man, as I got older and my needs changed, I found the short beds much more convenient and enjoyable to drive,
In my 50 years of driving, I have only had 1 extended cab, all the rest were regular cabs, and thats what I drive today.

I Do not like driving a 20+ foot long vehicle, I watch some of the people in parking lots needing to make 3 point and 4 point turns just to turn to get into a parking space, and I thank the good Lord AGAIN that I am not driving their choo choo train!
