Well hopefully I didn't bite off more than I can chew, but I am looking forward to the project. I will be picking up a 2017 V519 next week that I bought at an online auction for less than $5k :D It has however gotten just a bit toasty in the engine compartment, but with other models of the same year going in the high 50s I have quite bit of room to play with I hope. If worse comes to worse I have a set of axles to build a new toy with, and some parts to put on EBAY. I went to my local Bobcat dealer and set up an account on Friday, and ordered a parts, and repair manual to get started. I also went ahead and ordered two tires to make it a roller for what I thought was a dang good deal off walmart.com for $723 bucks shipped. That was just a bit higher than what I found for them each at other places. Now if wallyworld.com only sold Bobcat parts

I recently bought a Kubota L6060 (LOVE IT), and have had a Bobcat T140 skid steer for maybe 5 years. I was planning on upgrading to a much larger skid steer but after looking at some of the post on here of the V519s and earlier models and what they are capable of I think this may be the ticket, and possibly be quite a bit cheaper than buying new, or even used. I am pretty dang crafty, and might end up just stuffing one of my 4BTs in there LOL Anyway, figured I will start posting pics and at least keep everybody entertained. Let me know if you think I am crazy or scored a good project. Thanks Aaron/HD FAB

*** EDIT*** If anyone knows what model of motor will be in this let me know, I would like to start looking to see if I can find a complete pull out somewhere. Or if anyone has seen one of these being parted out. I saw one other one that looked to have caught on fire, but so far haven't found for parts. Thanks!

Left side looks good.

Good luck. Heck, even if you put $20K in it you're ahead of the game.

Any damage in the cab?

I’d be inclined to go with the mechanical injection 4bt option. It would cost a fortune to fix back with the factory motor. How many hydraulic pumps is it supposed to have? I doubt the motor is hurt but it’s missing a lot of accessories.

It looks to be mostly cosmetic inside the cab. The headliner has came down, but even the stickers on the window are only browned at the top and the glass is still intact. It will be interesting to find out what all was affected.

To be honest I was joking in the beginning, but the more I think about it it really could be an option... I have several 4BTs both VE and P pumped (one is twin turbo and made 525hp/938tq on the dyno lol) and I think I still have a SAE 3 and 4 bell housing. I would basically just have to gut all the wiring and plumb and wire it like I was building a one off machine. I don't plan on flipping this, so I def wouldn't hurt to build it the way I want. **** I already thought about gutting my T140 for parts but its about 25hp shy. I will know more once I get it back and start making a parts list. Bobcat did have the motor on the computer at like 14k, but then you have everything that goes along with it. Eh, well see...

Well I hope that you scored a good project. But it might be a major project.

It won't be a "roller" until you follow the procedure in the service manual to release the brakes.

The engine is a Doosan, but I don't know the model number.

Click this link, then click "Model Number": Bobcat Genuine Parts Catalog – Official Bobcat Company site

Thanks Xfaxman, I don't have the manual yet so I had better get by Bobcat tomorrow and see about finding out how to release the brakes. I am trying to get a second winch mounted on the trailer, snatch blocks, tools, tires, etc ready for about a 6hr drive to go get it and you may have just saved me a bunch of heartache.

After searching online I found the repair manual for download for a grand total of 19 bucks! It will still be nice to have the paperback that I ordered from Bobcat but this will get me started. I printed off the procedure to be able to tow it and is simple enough.
