So how many of your Kubotas are you giving away to charity? I think you should give at least 3 back. Lead by example.

Everything you and I have came from our good fortune.

Man things got testy. Cabin fever is here I guess.

Anyway, I have lived in MI for a while and have never heard of anyone losing having their property foreclosed unexpectedly. I now two owners who are behind on their taxes and one stays that way year after year. No foreclosure until after 3 years. I know one couple that walked away from a very large house due to inability to afford it and they were upside down on it...no equity.

There may be isolated cases that get media attention but I expect they do not report the whole story. This is a good state to live in once you get away from the cities and suburbs. Ignore the media in most things and you will be better off....IMHO

Well stated. I totally agree.

What good fortune CAME MY WAY?

I feel bad for you. I consider myself fortunate simply for living in the USA, where I have the opportunity to do what I want to the best of my ability. For good health, and the ability to walk away from some of the stupid things which I did in my younger days. I've known people with terminal diseases who have more than some of the richest people on earth; because they appreciate every day that they get out of bed.

Well said. I feel the same way.

My point is it's OK to give some back when good fortune smiles upon you.

The key word here is "Give" One chooses to "Give". When something is "Taken". it is NOT of one's free will and choice.

"Government" and organized charities prefer that you give cash rather than food or Christmas gifts, claiming that they can give more that way. To me that separates the donors from those who need it, creating more of an "us against them" mentality. I was raised to help those less fortunate, and I try to do as I was raised. Yet to give blindly as our government does creates an "entitlement" attitude which is promoted by one of our political parties; while those same people are demonized by the other major party.
