mahindra 1626hst
Hi all just wanted to say hello. I am a new owner of a mahindra 1626 and i love it so far except for a couple of small things. First i would like to give a heads up to anyone buying new make sure you give a good look at fluids. My tractor was sitting on the lot for a while and i think a good bit of water got in tranny fluid. I checked it after 10hra and saw it was bright green almost like coolant. When i drained it you could tell it had gone off most likely from the amount of water. Anywaus so far so good with fresh hudro fluid.

One other issueni have had is sometimes it can be diffocult to shift gears hi, med, low. I have an hst and it can be very still or sometimes wont shift unless i press the hyrdo pedla a bit or release the cluth and brake then try again. Just wondering if amyone else has had this issue. I have tried adjusting the clutch linkage as well and will be taking it back to dealer in a while.

Otherwise i love the tractor and the loader has been very impressive.

Welcome to TBN, skibberman, and congrats on the new tractor. I believe the occasional shifting difficulty is just the need to align gear teeth to complete the shift, as break in progresses I think it will get easier, and you will also get accustomed to the routine as to give it no thought.

Welcome! I have a 2638 HST and I have trouble shifting as well. A couple people have mentioned adding some lube to the linkage and some other trick, I haven't tried either yet.

I do notice if I very lightly rock the tractor back and forth with the pedals it will get it out of whatever position the shifter got stuck in and then I can shift easily. I try to do this at low rpms, which is also needed to get into 4wd.

Good luck and hopefully it keeps you happy!

Thanks for the welcome shifter seems to be getting better prob the new fluid. Still a bit of green tint to the new fluid butbi think it was because i was dumb and didnt drain the filters with the old fluid.

Congrats on the new toy! I also have the 1626h and absolutely love it. Just turned 65 hours and have loved every minute of it. I have noticed a tiny leak around the oil pan. I’ve read about it multiple times on this model. I doubt it would be a problem, but I can’t stand a leak on a brand new tractor. So, I will be taking it back to the dealer when I get a chance.

In regard to the water getting into the tranny, did you see obvious water come out when you drained it? My original hydro fluid was also “antifreeze neon green”. I was a little confused, but apparently the dye is added to certain brand hydraulic fluids to help identify leaks. I work for an asphalt company and our foreman told me that most of our new equipment is coming with green hydraulic fluid now. Looks just like a coolant leak out on the road.

I haven’t followed the new model numbers. Is this a TYM chassis or Mitsubishi?
