My wife loves to do the scented wax thing.... then, she's a nervous wreck that it's going to cause a fire.

Go figure.

Had the wax thing going.... nice & scenty hot.... Don't recall what happened but it fell or got yanked over and you can see the red/pinkish wax on the walls.

Looking for some ideas on how to get the wax off AND if the color transferred, how to get it off.

I asked the wife "simple.... where's the can of paint we used??" (she didn't like that idea)

This is hopefully going to be one of my projects later today. I'm thinking razor blade.... gently shave it off. I'm thinking hair dryer to liquify it and (hopefully) wipe it off.

Thought I'd put it here to see if there are other novel thoughts.

My wife used to wax the seats of the kitchen chairs. It was so slick that I kept sliding around in my seat. A woman with a spray can is sometimes a dangerous thing.

Initial report, the credit card worked like a champ.

I only did phase I yesterday (scraping it off, you can still see the shadow of where it was)

Went over the wall, into the moulding, the table that it was all standing on....the floor.... got 99% of it up. There is still a film of wax where it landed so I stopped & went out to tinker on my tractor.

I'm thinking now, a simple hot water/cloth and some elbow grease might get the last film off. Wife said to instead try the blow dryer so might try that too.

Most of the wax "chipped" off. Meaning, when the edge of the card hit it, it simply popped off. There was VERY little smearing (if any). Some of the thick places popped off and some of the thin coats had to be scraped down like you might scrape a frosty windshield.

I did find a handful of cobwebs as it seems this end table hasn't been moved in a number of years.... they're now gone and when this is put back together, it will be clean & spiffy.

Yep, hot iron and some sort of blotting paper will absorb most of it.
(like old fashioned blotters when we used to use ink pens)

Are you old enough to remember the ink wells in our desks?
