Generator looks good, wonder when it will go on sale again?
I'm guessing that we are in the middle of hurricane season it won't be soon.
I have an older 5.4 kw that I would like to upgrade from.
Also looks like they forgot to add a lifting eye, might be handy.

I've owned one for a couple of years now. Bought it right before the last bad storm, and it did indeed come in very handy. So far I've only used propane in it. Gasoline has never been put in the carb - and won't if I can manage otherwise.

I did have the propane company add a regulator in my house propane line so I can run the generator off of the big tank. But I do keep a half dozen small tanks around for occasional use.

I paid $650 for mine, delivered. For that price, its a bargain compared to my 2 little Honda 2000i generators, priced at $1K each. Not as quiet as the Honda's, but very cost effective for emergency power, should I need it. Oh, BTW, we've not had another power outage since my first use :) Knock on wood...

I saved the ad to My ebay and found it on sale 2 weeks ago for $699.00 and ordered it.
It seems they run the sale for short periods.
I got my generator and somewhere someone stabbed it with a forklift fork! :(
LUCKILY it went between the frame and the gen head and speared the battery.
I called, then sent pics by email and they sent me a new battery.
I told them I could straighten the battery box and repair the hold down.
I will add that the generator comes with a set of plugs (maybe $60.) a propane hose with tank fitting and 12 V charge cord.
Generator looks great!

Just as a follow up: My daughter ran this unit for several days after Hurricane Michael last year. Her husband built a cover for it that caused it to overheat and shut down so they had to pull it out in the open to keep it cool. They didn't have any more problems with it after that.

When we had threat of another storm this year she pulled it out of the shed, added gas, turned the key, and it fired right up. They haven't had it on a charger or anything. The storm didn't affect us so it didn't end up getting used. I'm not sure if they ever changed the oil but I know she bought oil to change it this year.

Following up as well. I built a generator shed for the generator. I've lost power a dozen times since, if not more. I've run the generator probably 200+ hours. One time the door closed and it overheated and shut itself down. Opened the door and it worked fine after that.

I've run my duromax 10k for 6 days strait during an extended outage due to snow. I mean strait, did not shut off once. Every 4-6 hours I'd refuel while the generator was going. This thing has saved me a dozen times. It's wired into my house, and allows me to run furnace, stove, washer, dryer, etc. I don't have to pick the stuff I run. I just don't get greedy.

Every 4-6 hours you dodged a bullet. I never had the nerve to refuel while running. I was always worried about gas fumes finding a spark or maybe I just have to much over spill.

I switched mine over to gasoline because it seems to be easier to start.

I'm w/ you DeereDude.. especially w/ that funky "depression" they have all around the gas fill..
They shoulda took the extra step to funnel it off the 1 side..
& w/ an electric start, its no bother to shut it off & restart..
I had/have an 11hp manual start that I would fill running.. talk about scary.. but it was VERY difficult to restart after a shut down..
SO I converted it to electric start VERY SOON after my back surgery.. Before I found the DuroMax sale..
