Morn'n to all,
Hope all are well.
Haven't been around for a short while, too many little project.
An interesting thing happened to me via Costco, not a biggy, but just interesting.
I had found an item at Costco, that I thought was by far the best thing that Costco has sold in along time, mind you now, I like Costco and a lot of their stuff. The item I found their is a food stuff, great tasting Olive Tapenade, made by Fotis and Son.
Well as it goes at Costco they ran out and decided not to stock it in my area, WHAT, I also couldn't order it in on-line, tell me that makes sense. I asked the local stores Customer Service about the product and was told there was a stocking adjustment made that eliminated it from this store, I asked why that would happen and was told usually because of sales, ok.. BUT , if it used to on the shelf and people were always buying it, why would it be removed from inventory, NOT, NOT, NOT... no answer, well at least one that made sense.
Then I asked why can't I order it from the Costco Web Site for delivery to my house... I would gladly pay shipping... BLANK STARE... for some reason if it isn't stocked in your store, it can't be order for deliver to your area.
The Customer Service Agent, trying to be helpful then told me I could drive to the next county, they have it there... a one hour drive to get something I like, yes, not too bad but not acceptable.
I contacted Costco Corporate HQ, the same basic answers, this really doesn't make any sense to me.
So instead of taking the one hour trip, I contact the maker, Fotis and Son, they told me I couldn't buy it locally because of the Costco Contract, I understand BUT ! They appear to understand my wants and needs so they said they would contact Costco and see what is happening. a week later I get an e-mail from Fotis and Son, they had talked to Costco and they will be restocking the item. GREAT !
One month later nothing, I contacted Fotis and Son again, asked for an assist to get it back onto shelf at my local Costco... Wham Bam, it's back.
I would not have thought any input form me would have changed anything and really I don't think it has but all I know is one of the best Tapenade's I have ever tasted is on the shel again... Thank you Fotis and Son nd Costco for LISTENING !
So the squeaky wheel does get oiled, sometime !
