Texas Fall/Winter thread!

Took the wife, daughter, and two grandkids to Santa's Wonderland in College Station Saturday night. I was impressed. We did the horse and carriage ride which was by far the best thing to do. Over 8 million lights. I've driven by that place many times in the daytime during its offseason and never realized the extent of it. Neat place.

If I recall correctly, it is open 7 weeks out of the year. I imagine since we went before thanksgiving it was probably a lot less crowded than closer to Christmas. Daughter has been a few times. Told me it is usually packed more.

It's the two story restrauant with dining decks and steps down to the river. I don't remember the name of it. But as I remember, you can see the Trail of Lights from the west dining deck. It is just near the bridge. Slept since then and it's foggy now. As I remember, it was right beside new construction of a hotel. Or maybe a new Chili's.

Checking google maps shows it right beside Hampton Inn with Chili's between them. The name is River City Grill. Very crowded and they have a whole wooden (Chriscraft?) boat on the wall or hanging from the ceiling.

We’ve seen that place and it looks nice but the Bluebonnet just keeps pulling us back in.

One Sunday morning, my daughter,Grand daughter, and I tried to eat at the Bluebonnet. But the line was out the door and around the corner.

Yes, it often is. Popular place.

Food is good but I’ve had as good or better lots of places. I think there is some nostalgia associated with the Bluebonet that is just appealing to people.

If you recall the Corral Cafe that was in Madisonville for many, many years it was much the same. They finally bit the dust when it became hard to keep good help. So far the Bluebonnet has been able to keep a great crew together.
