Kubota BX2380
Hi guys,

Newbie tractor owner here.
Bringing wood I noticed the tractor seemed to sway a bit. I'm super careful even on the mildest of slopes.
I keep the bucket almost dragging on the ground until I have to lift it and even then only on flat ground, etc.

I found that I could get off my BX and actually almost tip it by hand (by pushing on the roll bar)with the bucket as it was in the pictures
and when the bucket is empty and 6 inches from the ground (although that was harder)

Is this normal? I have sandbags for the ballast box (I didn't have them in the box today)

Would that help or make it tip easier because of extra weight?

Check your tire pressure. This sounds like it is too tippy. I don;t know much about Kubota suspension, but a quick look see to make sure nothing is missing/broken ?

Add some rear wheel spacers...it’ll definitely help! These tractors are top heavy...have to make the stance a bit wider...

Pretty sure nothing's broken. I've barely used it and just did my 50 hour service.

Front tires are supposed to be 22 lbs and the backs are 20 I believe.
I'll check the manual and check the tires when I get home from work.

Hi troopr31

I've never heard of a rear wheel spacer.

That sounds like a thing the dealer would have to install?
Is there a link online?

I have a B2601...With 2.5” BORA spacers on the rear...

These guys are big players in the BX market. They explain them on the site.

If you use a mid-mount mower you can only get a certain width before it contacts the anti-scalp wheels on the rear of your deck...the wider you go, the more stability you get...

I've had some close calls with my BX. Best thing to do is keep the load as low to the ground as possible. This way if the tractor wants to flip, the bottom of the bucket will help stop it as it hits the ground.

If it feels like it's going to flip, just drop the bucket as fast as you can; make it like an extension of your hand - a reflexive move. It's saved me a lot of those times.

Make sure you wear your seatbelt too, as annoying as it is, it's there for a reason.

Though, the easiest way to prevent any of this is realize that it's a BX and not a big machine. Loading is key.

Just saw a video.
Actually doesn't look too hard to install.

Will two inches make a big difference?

Andrew....load up that rear ballast box with some weight. Your front axle does nothing to keep you from tipping because it pivots at one point in the center. Your rear axle doesn't pivot so that is the one that keeps you stable but it needs weight to plant it to the ground. Are your rear tires fluid filled? If not, start with 300+ lbs in the box and work up from there.

Hi ruffdog,

My rear tires are air filled.
I'll put the sand in the box tonight and see how that feels.
