Same here. Didn't even know he was still alive. I've never seen the commercial the OP mentioned...must be a regional thing. Lots of annoying ads, but that's not one of them.

I figured the Joe Namath commercial for "medi-scare" would be nationwide, I guess not. Sure is irritating to run it every few minutes.

Well Medicare advantage plans enrollment ends on Dec 7th, This is the period you can change over to an advantage plan or change advantage plans. Of course the "dis-enrolment" if you desire begins and runs I think Jan 1 to Feb 14th.. So we will get some ads for that too. Of course they will start and continue to push supplements all year long, but you might get one commercial a night for those, not every few minutes.

I've seen the commercial a bunch of times, but only in fast-forward. Love my OTA TiVo!

Even if I want to watch something live, I'll find something else to do for a few minutes first. That gives me enough of a buffer that I can fast-forward through the commercials.

We ( major airline) had an absolutely beautiful stewardess (that's what they called them then) who was a recent Miss Minnesota, and in his days of fame she dated Broadway Joe.
I hoped that she would figure out what a pompous *** Joe really was.
She did, and eventually married a Minneapolis restaurentur.

Well known celebrities have been doing those ads all along. I'm sure each of them have people that dislike them. What iritate's me is medicare in general. Like any federal regulated program,it attract's vultures and flies.
