Since we don't have a separate Tool forum and we use tools for Projects, this seems like a reasonable place to discuss tools we have or find, normal or other wise.

No ToolTime girls though, unless we have a volunteer?

Couple things I picked up the other day.

On another thread, we talked about things to cut sheet metal. Everything I had tried so far had some kind of problem. Shears would cut over ridges for example. These do, at least on the one quick test I just did:

I don't recall ever seeing anything like these. One is a regular adjustable crescent wrench, but with a 1/2" drive ratchet in the handle. The other has both a 3/8" and 1/2" ratchet at the other end of a prybar, nail/staple lifter.

Hooked it to the crane scale, registered just over 3700 pounds of pull:

And I thought my little shelf full of pliers was a lot... You have some beauties there! Best ask for sheet of plywood to display them for Christmas.

the simple old fashion brace is an oft forgotten, very useful tool. I recently used mine to run 120 1/4 in self tapping screws for a new deck on my trailer. all of them perfectly flush, none stripped out or broke off and almost as easy as doing it with a power tool.

i replaced all the fluids and grease zerks on my Allis over the weekend and used my tap and die set on some things. I'm very impressed with the quality of my Irwin / Hanson set for the price. I had a lesser quality set that was almost useless before this, and this is the first time i have used more than one tap or die on a project out of the new set.

I am guessing that most of the younger generation does not know what a brace for drilling holes is, so here is a picture:
