It is about time to replace my 2012 OE battery for the B2620. What are you all using for replacement?

Per my computer, I see the dealer replacement at about $124. Is that about right? Or, are there others that are just as good at a much better price?

Cheers,
Mike

Mike, I would either take it off and with me to the store, or take some very good measurements plus cell phone pics. I'd go to my local O'Reilley's and get a good quality battery.

Talking about this probably jinxed me since my M9540 is a 2012 model too...… :)

I believe your tractor takes the same battery as my ZD mowers. Confirm, but likely group 51R.
It's not a real popular size for an automotive store to stock, but they're not rare either. I currently have yellow top Optima batteries in my mowers, and they are holding up well.
My oem batteries were Deka, and are a good brand. If that's what you're dealer is selling for $124, it sounds like a reasonable price.

Earlier this Fall, I replaced the battery in my B1750 with an extra capacity (about $10.00 more) Deka.

My dealer gives me a bit of a break on prices and I think it cost about $85-$90.

Alternatively, get the size code and/or dimensions and wait tor TSC, Orschelins (SP?), etc., to put them on sale as they routinely do. Should cost less than $100.00.

No Dealer deals at my local place. I would also take mine off and shop it at ORielly's. Might even try Costco if you are a member. I have done well with car batteries there.

Good batteries I have used are Deka, John Deere Strongbox, Kubota, Autozone Duralast, and Interstate.

I used to buy Diehard Gold batteries but quit buying them a few years ago because of dead cells in them.

Don't know if you have a PepBoys close by or not but they're giving 25% off of Champion batteries. Might check and compare prices. I just picked up a couple and they had 48 mo replacement warranties! Jm2c

a 26 hp motor don't need a huge expensive battery, what you have is the size of a garden tractor.. yellow top Optima batteries are very good.. because of their design, they can withstand vibration very well..

"a 26 hp motor don't need a huge expensive battery"

And....just how did you arrive at that conclusion?
It does get cold in Kansas, and CCA is important for cold weather.
Larger, high capacity, batteries have greater CCA.
My little 12 HP Gravely walk behind even requires a group 24 (?) car battery.
