very good, I forgot where it was, but there was a picture of a street with maybe 20 feet of snow, after the snow crews got done!. some places get huge amounts!!.. and this didn't show and driveways cleared, but the houses were clearly above the roofs with snow!!. I can't imagine how someone could get out of that!!..

Some areas of our Planet receive huge amounts of snow. Very often it's a surprise where those areas are. :)

Myself I really have a preference for the Beilhack three engine machines.

The Scottish highlands is one place as well as the Going To The Sun Road in Montana?, Newfoundland, Labrador and Hokkaido Island in Japan

The Great Northern Railway had a lot of snow to deal with every year in Washington state when they had the switchbacks climbing Seattle to Skykomish to the railroad town of Wellington and crossing the mountains to Wenatachee and then on to Spokane from 1882 to 1929.
The outhouses that the they had in the old railroad towns were two stories tall because of the snow. They had to use wooden shed walkways to get from one building to another and the steam plant because the snow was so deep there.

Thank you Agvg for sharing all those great videos. Norway does it right. They should educate the DOT in every state in the US how to operate properly and efficiently. Its really is embarrassing to watch how 1(one) guy on a machine can do the work of a half dozen here in NY. I always joke with people that If i were a Governor, I would straighten out the state budget in ten minutes by completely overhauling the DOT. Gutting it and starting over with 15% of the current manpower and getting far more done.

It's a focus on automation, machines are cheap, labor is expensive. The negative side is it's effect on people that need simple work, most all jobs require some education, IT/technical skills, good writing and reading etc. So the real low end workforce have trouble. Even a job at McDonald's is out of reach because even they have quite high demands and a can choose good, young students as employees.

From the looks of it, it is supposed to be something like the TowPlow that is becoming common here in the US.

Ah, but large tractors over there do have brakes on all four corners, they do have a suspension for the front and in many cases, the tread they're using is like a large turf tire so they have plenty of traction.

Yep...look on YouTube to see how tractors are used on European roads. Their road gears must be a heck of a lot taller then what we see in the US

One thing I see in the use of trucks in the US is the ability to haul sand, ice melt and such as well as plow. Definitely not going to be able to haul and distribute tons of sand when using a tractor
Another thing...I've seen vids of tractors plowing secondary roads, but major highways are a different matter, even in Europe. I haven't seen pictures or vids of what is used, but I'd wager European countries aren't using tractors on roads such as the Autoban or Autostrada.
