A talented/efficient operator is worth his weight in gold!

I hired a guy who did good work, but he did not plan/use machine efficiently.
Wasted hours....that I paid for!

The good friend I spoke of has his BIL working for him. He runs the TLB. He's almost worthless. I can hire the large Excavator with the good operator cheaper than I can hire the smaller TLB. Even though there is $40 per hr difference in the rate.....

It's just like anything else. After some experience it gets to be just an extension of your arm and it is easy. It just takes time to be a good operator. That being said some people will never be good operators.

Some people have 30 years of experience, others have one year of experience 30 times over...

The guy I was referring to in my post here, was a heavy equipment operator instructor.
Nice work, but very inefficient use of machine.
