Bucket dump / curl oddness

Hey everyone I only just found this forum and wanted to make my first post. I have hopefully found my fault but wish to run it past everyone.
I have a Chinese Eastwind tractor with FEL. Just the other day I noticed when I curl the bucket back just feathering the lever the bucket dumps.
If I move the lever a bit more it stops and if I move further everything is ok. All other functions seem fine.

I have replaced the hydraulic return filter and checked all the pump inlet lines are tight, added a transmission vent that it did not seem to have, removed and cleaned the load check valve (different symptoms)
Removed the spool from control valve and cleaned. And checked all the hex bolts are tight on control. After doing this the hydraulics are the best they have been since I have owned it. 3rd owner.

About to order a hydraulic pressure test gauge kit tonight.

I am hoping that I am right after google and a post here recently hydraulics/419269-weird-fel-behavior (cannot post link)

Hopefully it is internally leaking in one of the cylinders as the behaviour is exactly as described only curl / dump rather than bucket up / down.

Don't have enough fittings to test cylinder at the moment. Thoughts??

Can you swap the lines to the valve. Meaning change the curl/dump circuit to the lift/lower circuit. If the problem moves with the lines it's the cylinders, if it stays with the particular lever it's the valve.

Sounds like you have a bad seal in one or both of the cylinders. Pretty classic case.

Sorry, after reading again I see that you cleaned the load check valve.

Sorry, after reading again I see that you cleaned the load check valve.

Actually I think you hit it npalen. Most like a dirty effect along with slight damage or design flaw in the valve.​

I think RNeumann is most likely correct . Your bucket dump cylinders piston seals are bad/ bypassing to the base side of the cylinder from the rod side when you try to retract them. Need to re build them with new seals.

I have ordered a pressure gauge kit which will arrive in the new year. Will need to get a couple of fittings so will get the plugs required to do the cylinder test described in the youtube link. Pretty confident that is the issue. Have found that at normal work speed the bucket behaves ok. Will rebuild the cylinders in the new year and replace the curl cylinder hoses as they are cracked. Looks like they have been fitted with a too tight radius. Thanks for the replies.
