I am considering adding this kit to the front-mounted snowblower. The third function switch and ports are already installed, so basically the kit is a cylinder, hoses (about 10 feet each), and fittings on both ends, including two female quick disconnects.

The local dealer has priced this at $487.00, picked up at his storefront.

Has anyone installed a similar kit recently, and if so, was the purchase price similar?

I have this same snowblower on my ck4010. I honestly am not certain of the price but it sounds about right. Mine also came with a new handle for the joystick with buttons on it, so every function is ran right from there.

I have the hydraulic deflector on my ck 4010, but it was part of the package. I understand from a post on here that an electric unit is available now. I suspect it may be cheaper. Should work ok. Not much force required to turn the chute.

I installed the kit a couple of weeks ago - I believe the retail is a hundred more so it's a good price - I have the SE - have not installed the front valves yet so I ran to the rear valve - the kit came with both front and rear hoses the fittings added about a hundred - the system works very well - you need to make sure you install the reducer in one of the front fittings - I believe the instructions will show the top fitting on the valve - that reduces the speed - to me it's a must have - I did not want a cab and without the ability to angle the chute meant you got covered - this way in the wind I just angle down - the kit works very well I'm sure it will be a wise purchase..

Thanks. My reasons for wanting the hydraulic deflector are somewhat the same. i have a cab, but quickly adjusting the angle to better direct the snow is impossible without either the hydraulic or electric deflector.

I guess you have never enjoyed freezing rain as that sure can render cute rotation impossible.
Takes a lot of torque to break the frozen chute loose.*
My rotation is an ATV winch and that develops enough torque to tow 4000 lbs and often not enough oomph.

On the deflector I can see electric deflector as a viable device as I have never seen icing problems at that location.

* while occasionally frozen I simply poke the ice free in favor of the VERY economical winch DIY installation.
I do keep an 'ice poker' on board at all times. (LOL, big screw driver!) Greasing the rotation surfaces also helps.

Electric deflection is but an electric screw jack and easy to install providing U obtain the correct length.

Many on line sites offer screw jacks in +/- the $100. range. Just add wire and a proper witch.

I think the electric option is for the deflector only, not shute rotation. Don’t know for sure, just going from my interpretation of a post I read. Mine is all hydraulic. The long hoses are a pain in the buttocks, though. They tend to foul on the front tire if not strung and tied carefully. If I was buying now, I would seriously consider electric.
