i think you'll find the price to be subjective to the market your looking in, up north it is going to cost more than if you went down south to buy one, i would highly recommend looking around at different dealers in your area, and your surrounding areas to find your best price for what you're looking for.

I just got the 5220C and was 37,398 for the Tractor, FEL, and BH250 Backhoe here in North Georgia. The 5220CH was $1850 more. We just liked the Shuttle Shift better after driving both.
I got a bunch of other attachments with it and was $44,600 total.

Yeah that was out the door price. We're tax exempt, so that helps.
I didn't like the whine of the HST in the Cab and didn't like the jerkiness of going from go to stop and vice versa. Basically that coupled with the savings made it an easy decision. I felt just as comfortable driving either one.

Butting in, on which and why, all my lawn mowers are riding, some conventional and some ZTs and all are HST. Reason being that HST is what is needed for that type of work......for ME!

All my tractors are non synchronous gear shifted and the 6530 is clutch operated shuttle shifter giving me the best of both worlds. Operating the clutch, vs a non clutch shuttle, is a no brainer. You have to move your arm to move the direction lever and your leg just automatically moves the clutch pedal in the process....don't even think about it.

Hydro is good at repetitive tasks....back and forth, like cleaning out poop from a barn or feed lot, making piles of something, removing something from a pile type things. Hydro has infinite speeds so if you do a lot of delicate work, like getting in close to something, or inching something along. The hydro pump "whines" to varying degrees and some folks find that annoying. Since the industry has moved to HST steering, tractors have a separate hydraulic pump just for the steering, so you are going to have a little whine to listen to regardless of which type of shifter you select for the main drive.

Geared are good for soil cultivation where you have long stretches of the same engine RPM and gear selected.....course a HST in "cruise control" will do the same thing for you if your foot gets tired of holding the pedal down at the same spot for extended periods. Both use the same Premium Grade hydraulic fluid if that matters.

Why did I buy my 2400 geared rather than HST since I bought it for odd jobs around the house and farm (but as it turned out I use it at most everything within it's capacity)? I really don't know. Just did. Sorry? No.
