^^^^
I was talking to somebody a few years ago who did something similar; he works construction all over the country, and wanted to be able to haul his camper trailer and his motorcycle. He has a CDL with a tandem trailer endorsement, so he fashioned a way to haul his bike trailer behind his camper. That worked until he got about 200 miles down the interstate, where he was told that he could either park one of them and come back for it; or get summonsed, then park one of them and come back for it.

Depends on the state, some places doubles are legal.

Only if the first trailer is a 5th wheel. Maybe gooseneck, not sure. At least the first one cant be a bumper pull. Only a few states permit it. I'm sure you could Google which ones & the details.

That's funny, I was thinking the exact opposite. The reason folks don't buy long beds anymore is they're buying houses with tiny little garages in suburbia, that won't fit a long bed. And their HOA's won't allow them to park the truck outside. That and most of the time they're not actually using their trucks as trucks anymore. Soccer mom's taking the kids to the mall don't need an 8' bed, and it's "too hard" for a Soccer Mom to squeeze one through the drive through at Starbucks.

How many times to folks say the long beds are "Too hard to park".

I've never once, not one time ever, wished one of my long bed trucks was a short bed. I've only ever had one short bed truck in my life, and I frequently wished it was a long bed. Way too many times the "stuff" I was hauling wouldn't fit in the shorter bed without extra hassle. That was 25 years ago, and I never made that mistake again. Long beds for me, thanks.
Agree. A truck is not a truck in my mind unless it is a long bed. But that is me and my :2cents:

Maybe some states, but not all.

I can’t see ever having a short bed truck again.
Half ton or HD short?

At least for a Chivy, a 6.5' bed is a long bed and a short bed, depending on if it's a half ton or an HD....

You are hard pressed to find city parking that can easily accomodate a standard full size four door cab and 6.5 foot box.

I think my truck is the most versatile vehicle I could possibly own. 4 wheel drive is a must have. The Duramax diesel will easily pull my 10k trailers anywhere I go. The crew cab gives me plenty of room for the family if needed, or myself and hunting gear, sports gear, simple shopping stuff, or whatever and still be covered and locked up. Anything too big or too much for the standard bed goes on the trailer. I need one dependable all purpose vehicle and a crew cab std bed is the answer and it looks good doing it. I think the lux-truck has taken over as they have the best of both worlds. Work and play, and the family guy.

A single cab 8' bed just looks goofy to me anymore, besides having less room in the cab and a very light rear end. They are typically referred to as old man trucks around here, lol.
