I folded my Quick Tach plate

I was referring more to the JD design of the post picture and questioning if it was independant?

I had never looked at how week of a design it really was until it was folded in half! Bobcat has made a change - I'm not sure what it looks like now, and I'm not going to find out. They want over $1700 for the replacement. I know my local welder can rebuild this and make it a LOT stronger for a heluva lot less.

In fairness, looking at the pictures on the OPs other thread regarding the same failure, it does look a little better built. Also shows the failure much moe clearly, which I had TOTALLY misunderstood.

My post in the Bobcat forum shows additional pictures from previous failures. The pictures from the latest failure are the same on both posts.

My purpose for the the post in the Bobcat forum was a question on the overall quality of the 7TL loader and if others Bobcat CUT users had experienced similar. This post was simply a frustration post - after reviewing the break and others posts it really pointed out just how poorly the plate was designed.

You should never damage a properly made ssqa or loader operating under the pressure relief valve. That didn't look like it's properly made so I would def add more gussets.

Give something enough enertia and you can bust anything. I saw commercial forks at a friends that had been folded back 180 degrees over half of their length (maybe four foot forks) and I just thought, how in the world could you even do that?

Running it off the end of a loading dock and landing on the forks will do that.

No it won't. That's bent forward..meaning curling the bucket would bend it like that.

He was talking about the forklift forks mentioned earlier....

either its not designed for the power/capabilities of the units its mounted on OR the unit was used in a manner not designed - which happens a lot and why so many like myself have modified things/over engineered them but at some point something more expensive/larger breaks, at least that is what happens to me LOL.

My dad was notorious for such antics like ramming with the blade ( getting a run at things ), going across rough terrain with too much in the loader cracking arms cause he was in a hurry and things got to bouncing, hooking onto something with a chain and then backing up to it and trying to jerk it out of the mud etc.....

i fixed way too many things due to his temper and my stuff gets treated much different - i hate tearing things up !!!
