I don't know about that system, coobie. Wish you could get independent analysis before spending the $$$$ and possibly having false hopes. The few I've seen on Dept of Highways vehicles are large and stick out back a long distance. Not something you would want on your truck.

You definitely aren’t going to absorb much impact with 3” of cushion. It would survive a 2 mph parking lot bump but 30 mph as claimed, no chance. That being said anything is better than the current bumper.

I call BS on that. In order for it to work, the foremost part of the offending vehicle would need to hit that dead center, otherwise it will ride over or get deflected. My normal response for tailgaters is to extend the distance between me and the vehicle that I'm following, and use extra diligence looking for hazards so that if I do need to stop quickly, I have a buffer for myself as well as the douche bag behind me.

Nothing would have worked today though, all that I saw was the top of the vee plow in my mirror, while the 4 cars in front of me were traveling at 20-25 mph... in a 50.

Even then the front end of vehicles is pretty soft. Unless they managed a direct hit on the frame rails which would be the worst case for passenger injury the vehicle would just crumple around the pipe.

Might as well put backhoe teeth on it,, for the most part it will only be a visual deterrent,,

A friend told me where he lives in PA,,, that ANYTHING left in the receiver hitch will get a ticket from the local police,,
He said he got two receiver hitch tickets in one year,,,

No laws here with restrictions that I am aware of.

Not looking for a cure all just looking for a little protection from the idiots that give you a love tap while on their cell phones.

Saw a picture on Facebook the other day. Guy welded a big pipe wrench on top of his step bumper. Looked like it might fall off any second. No more tailgaters.
