LS Looks Good but Dealers and service?

We have a Montana (a green LS) at work. It is a fairly robust unit but is also a bit crude. Based on what I have seen and heard, LS is now a more refined tractor.

The nearest dealer for us is more than 1-1/2 hours away. New Holland, Massey, Kubota, Mahindra, etc are all 1/2 hour or less. Having work done on it isn't an issue. There are many nearby dealers and repair shops that can perform work on the Montana / LS. The difficulty has been parts. We were out of commission for months at one time because an employee had a piece of concrete block roll off the back of the bucket and smash the dash. Fortunately it did't hit him.

Over rated, over priced, built with an overly complex design and lots of cheep parts hidden inside that will cost a fortune in repair as the car gets older. Our BMW is by far the worst car we ever owned and the Benz wasn稚 much better. Unfortunately when my wife decides she wants a new car you never know what she will bring home, I only hope she never brings one of them home again!

Yeah TBH ive never heard anything good on them. Everybody I know always complains of the $150 oil changes. I think a lot of people buy them because of status symbol because of price. Little do they know a large amount of that price is a tariff. Funny thing is we had a german guy as a friend in college he came here to study. We were talking about cars and he was poo poing BMW, mercedes etc, the real car over there to have was a Buick, got a chuckle off of that

Neither would I but for different reasons. When I'm farming I need a reliable unit. Post 4 tractors are not reliable.

I think your not reliable, is really the same reason as mine.

Your MB oil change (A service) cost data must be a bit dated.
$250+...here.

For folks even remotely mechanically adapted, a MB oil change is very simple.
Buy a 12V dipstick oil pump on E-Bay for $17, and pump the old oil out.
The MB filter is a top mounted cartridge type, so just screw the cap off and drop in a new MANN cartridge ($9.00 - E-Bay).
Add oil (7qts.- Walmart - Mobil 1 = $38)
Total cost of oil and filter = $47
Time ..... 15 minutes.

I am rapidly closing in on 80.
I believe I will still be able to change my MB oil if/when I might hit 90.
Even though it is ridiculously (expensive) complex, I do think my MB E350 is one he11 of a car!
I bought my MB used.......oops... I meant "pre-owned".....what a crock!

If you have been lucky more power to you!

Ours ate parts left and right, the BMW was good till about 70k then it started eating parts! The things it eats upon disasembly and repair have almost always been built with something real cheep inside needing replaced but they only want to sell you the hole unit. If you can’t figure out how to source the internal part yourself and replace it yourself your screwed with very expensive repair bills.
Enjoy your MB but the last time I looked thier customer satisfaction rating was one of the lowest and my ownership at the time would have me rate them less than zero!

One question, if they are so great then why does the resale value on most plummet like crazy compared to other cars?

BMW in german stands for: Bin Meiste in Werkstatt (roughly, I spend most of my time at the mechanic's)

Another saying....Nothing is more expensive than a cheap MB!

I know some other additions to your BMW in german stands for: Bin Meiste in Werkstatt (roughly, I spend most of my time at the mechanic's), but I cannot post them on here.....:D
