Now is the time to dig a trench, install a drain tile and backfill with gravel. You will be glad you did. Even if you don't care about it rusting out, in short order water will start seeping in and you will have mud inside you building all the time.

When my daughter and I built our Barn that open drain is exactly what we did. All we did was dig a hole about 8 to 10 inches deep x12 wide trenching all the way around it. Then we laid that cheap roll 4 poly drain tubing in it and ended it at the lowest point in a couple of small dry wells. We had a bunch of pebble rock kicking about so we filled the entire trench just flush with that semi decorative rock. The barn sits at the base of a slope so the water runs right to it but we致e never had a drop get inside. Very simple cheap and effective. Easily dug by hand.
