Reason to upgrade to a cab tractor

Congrats! Been there. After 23 years of open station I built a heated cab. HUGE improvement in the Winter. Clearing snow in a flannel shirt makes it a lot more fun.

After about 6 years of that, decided A/C would be nice. Heat was only one of the things that A/C helped with. At different times in warmer weather we have an overabundance of pollen, dust or deer flies. I can leisurely mow 3-1/2 acres on the hottest dusty day and emerge from the cab less than 90 minutes later as fresh as when I hopped in.

Pretty big Tonka toy for the sand pit. You have your own company?

Oh no, I'm just the operator. It's a Township machine that I run to maintain 50 miles of rural gravel roads.

I bought my first cab tractor almost five years back and for the weather with heat being biggest issue here and found many other reasons. Allowed me to do some field work in winter at night, but mowing the dust and debris, spraying and not having to worry about it blowing back on me, liquid fertilizer hose pulled loose and cab protected me, noise and a place to keep a small cooler. I do agree in the right weather miss the open station tractor. OH INSECTS such as wasps!

Does the blade on a road grader have a float position like our FEL's?

Pretty simple really... Age and comfort. I'm old and I like cush on my tush (as in air ride seat) and refrigerated air on a hot summer day in the field. I still have both, open station and cab. Hard to beat a cab when caught in the rain too.
