It's been a while, but I've been on a ferry where the cars moved because the seas were so rough. Scary stuff. I was happy to have only a bicycle, and that I was was only on deck getting on and off.That must be local or a Great Lakes thing, because riding in cars on ferries is common. In some places they want you in your car instead of wandering around on deck.
There are some pictures n some of the news stories of 'the car' that show net barriers in place. But I still don't see how this happened, nets or no nets. Wasn't it in Park? Didn't it have brakes? Those ferries don't start or stop suddenly enough to cause a vehicle to shift.
