2012 Kioti DK45se
Hello, I wanted to say thanks to the people for the wealth of info that I have gained here. I retired about 4yrs ago and live in SW VA. Always wanted some land away from everything to play on, camp on, shooting range and trails for ATV joy riding. So bought 53 acres about and hour from my house. I realized that a tractor was going to be necessary to maintain it. This is my first tractor. The serial # starts with the letter "M" so that makes it a 2012. It came with owner manuals for tractor and FEL. (open station) Has 405hrs. on it. I have read up as much as possible on TBN and the internet about the DK45SE model Kioti tractor. I have done all the recommended maintenance at 400hrs. that the book indicates. Everything seems to be operating as it should. It's still in my garage at my house. I still need to get grapple and rotary cutter. I am like a kid, I can't wait to get going on the land with it! But want to get everything like I want it before I get it there. I went to Kioti dealer near me about 40 minutes from my home. Opposite direction from my land! It has been in business for 30+years. I bought all my filters and fluids from them. They seemed to be priced with the other options I had so went with them to start a relationship. we talked and I got a good feel from them. I am going to deliver tractor to them to have 3rd function installed for grapple. They gave me some Kioti swag :) The tractor seems to in very good shape. I am so glad I found this TBN forum. If I have any questions I will certainly ask! Thanks. here's a few pic's

Good luck with your new machine. I sure like my DK35se, and have gotten a lot of good use out of it. You will certainly like having a grapple. Oh, and welcome to the forum.

When I changed the transmission fluid one drain plug had a magnet in it, here's what it looked like!
For the hours it had on it, it just came due for changing the first time.

Is that one of the two near the final drive cases near the rear wheels. ? And then you have your huge one in the middle that about 10 gallons comes out of , that takes a 32mm wrench and don't forget the final drives down near the front wheels (which can be a pain to drain) and the main front end case plug.

Yes k0ua, it is! I used a big crescent wrench on the big one! I had to drill a hole through the filter and insert a rod to get it off! This tractor is a gear drive.

Yep, had to punch a 5/8 hole in the first filter and use a piece of allthread about 3 foot long. Mine is hydro and has that expensive high pressure hydro filter on the other side, but it was easy to get off. But the suction filter was a bear.

George2615- Thanks! I looked for a used tractor mainly because I'm just using it kinda for fun, but to keep everything mowed down and road in good shape. The property is just for enjoyment. Ran up on this one, everything I read said buy bigger than you need! I have about 6 acers open to mow and wide trails and the rest is thick woods. I have about 4 large brush piles to deal with. I would have been happy with a lesser HP tractor but this showed up for the price that was to good to pass up. It did not come with any attachments. I don't think 400hrs. is a lot of hours to be 8 yrs. old.
I think it was kept indoors. From the looks of it.

Wanted to add that my Kioti dealer looked up my serial # and found it in their Kioti system. It was purchased in May, 2014 at a Kioti dealer in Northern VA and had no record of any warranty repair's that had been done on it. It is a 2012 model. But he said that was not unusual.

Oh yeah! the sight glass in the front axle. I read, do not over fill and I understand that. Would this be considered overfilled? If someone could comment on this I would sure appreciate it. Thanks...

Welcome to tractor ownership! I also recently purchased a Kioti, a DK 40 SE. Mine has a touch over 400 hours, and also needed oil and filter changes. When I looked in the owners manual, it stated to take the sight glass plug out and fill until it comes out. I left mine in, and filled until I just saw the oil in the sight glass, about 1/4 - 1/3 up the glass. In your pic, it is difficult to tell where the oil is, but I would add and watch carefully, once you see the oil, then stop and recheck after it levels out in the axle.
My nearest dealership is about 90 miles away but they offered shipping and seemed really helpful. I'd recommend using forums like this and good info on you tube, Mike from Kioti dealership down south also has great videos.
Good Luck!!
