1$/gal. gasoline? Maybe, but what does it mean really?

I paid 1.94 per gallon last friday. No telling what gasoline will fall to per gallon at the pump

I hold stocks in Diamond back energy. I wish I had sold off months ago. Now, it's going to die a slow death !

It is a $1.79 up in Nixa. ( town a few miles from here). I don't know if it will hit a $1, but I wouldn't be surprised to see something like $1.30 or so.

Gasoline prices around here in rural mid-Georgia work on the First In - Last Out pricing, that is unless it works out better for them another way. We're paying $2.32/gallon for 'off brand' gasoline. Heck - propane is still $2.79/gallon - and cold season is already pretty much over.

Having lived 75 years down in the Texas Gulf Coast, I sincerely sympathize for those in the oil industry and associated fields. Cheap prices always have their ripple down effect, and its almost always unpleasant.

For those city slickers on here though, that's good fodder for not living out in the country. Everything always has two sides.

Those are fuel prices we can only dream off over here.

Regular diesel: 5.76US$ / gal

Regular gas: 6.75 US$ / gal

Premium stuff will be even higher prices and the crappy stuff will be lower but it just kills injection systems.

If you had these prices in the US/Canada, I'm pretty sure that the air pollution due to emissions would come down a lot.

I imagine you have a huge tax premium on the fuel costs. Here in Minnesota, we have $0.486 state and federal fuel tax built into our pump prices and this is the fourth-highest tax in our union.

Minnesota House and Senate at Odds Over Gas Tax Increase

Even so, regular pump with a legislated 10% ethanol blend is $2.29 in lake country northern Minnesota.

On the fuel prices I listed above, 52% of that is pure taxes. Some taxes makes sense, others are just something that the government come up to steal even more money from the people on a country that already have one of lowest average wage of the Europe.

Then 8% is for the logistics of the fuel and the rest is the actual fuel.

This is why fuel consumption and good MPGs are a big deal in Europe.

we pay 1.37 to 1.67 per Litre go figure, and it has been known to go higher, lets hope for lower prices or tax breaks.

Here in Mass, gas is 2.20 ish for regular. .. Here are my thoughts on gas/oil... Years ago the scare tactic that was used isthat the supply was low and gas prices ran up to 4.00+ PG. ..nowadays shale production has made the US oil independent, cars now routinely get 25+MPG and a good number get better. Now add in the plug in cars that use no fuel oil. .. demand is down... supply is high. OPEC can no longer price rig the market. .. Prices SHOULD fall. And a lot. I may be off, but I think I remember reading that it costs us here in the US about 30.00 per barrel to produce product via shale ...OPEC in Saudi / and other Middle East count
I oduce at about 18.00 per barrel..I suspect the Russians and OPECwill try to push prices so low..Fracking / Shale will become non profitable. And the state of Massachusetts just took the opportunity to jack the gas tax again....figuring that the consumer would not notice the increase as pump prices fall. ... This state will piss that revenue away on anything but road repair issues. ...They will redirect it to the P.O.S MBTA trains and busses.. that drivers do not use.. Democrat BS and poor planning at its panicle.

We will be tail lights soon. Have a few pieces of property to sell off and I'm gone.....Hopefully to a state that does not promote "safe shoot up sights"for junkies instead of spending that tax money on things like veteran homless issues.
