SA324 or SA424... need a decision... buying THIS week

I have a 424 filled tires with wheel weights and live on 6 acres with hilly terrain and have been amazed at the stability of this machine. I have not felt it get light in the almost 3 years 220 hrs I have had it. I run a 4ft rototiller, 5 ft finish mower, 4ft brush hog, 5ft box blade, 6ft rear blade, 600lb capacity vicon spreader, and it handles all of them with no problem. The 5ft finish mower is a woods and is a little heavy when cresting a hill and I have a little weight on the front of the tractor. It is a great machine. The lifting capacity of this machine is amazing.

Thanks for the replies guys. I watched a YouTube review where the owner of the 424 comments that the BH stabilizer legs are too short for the 424 which makes sense given its the same BH used on the 221 which is WAAAAY shorter! The YouTube reviewer contemplates that in hindsight, it may have been better for him to get the 324 instead. I will be doing ALOT of BH work, so I am concerned. Of course, I could build aftermarket feet for the BH legs that give me more room, like 4" square steel tubing with cleats.

Nice! Congratulations on a fine machine! I do not think you will have any problems with the stabs. Go and try it out, I think you will find them to be sufficient for what they are designed to do. Go have fun and get some dirt on it!:thumbsup:

i have a 424. One thing i found was there doesnt appear to be sufficent clearance between the tire and the hydro lines to run rear chains. Could an issue if you deal with alot of snow and ice. i had the rears weighted and run front chains and it does pretty well when i am running the blower.

Loving my 424 guys! Played around with it this weekend to learn the ropes a little. Dug up 3 stumps and moved 1000lbs of rock at least. Glad I got the tooth at installed prior to delivery. That is a great accessory. Got Kens Bolt-on hooks delivered and installed today.

The bucket tooth bar was whatever the Yanmar dealer carries in stock for the Yanmar line. I think they la el them as Yanmar tooth bars, so *. But it’s really nice and fits the bucket perfectly. Had them install prior to delivery. They are strong. I’ve used them to dig under surface rotors and rocks and pop them free and there appears to be no damage or bending of the teeth so far. I recommend!

It was probably locally sourced. Not a Yanmar produced tooth bar. Or it could be a Piranha Bar.
