Used GC1715 -- what to look for?

Radiator cap or reserve tank cap missing?
Overall condition, I would pass. There is a lot of excessive wear for the hours/price.
Go to a 2016 model with the DL95 loader. Greasing it is a whole lot easier. Nipples are in the pins, easily accessible.

Well obviously it's a used machine that you are seeing a few issues with, probably normal wear. Does not look like a great effort to clean it up for sale, it is a tractor I guess.

Something to think about, with the current volatile market we are in, you may wait a little bit and find a real deal on a new one for just a little more money.

Yes that had occurred to me, and it may work out that way if my offer is not accepted.

For what it’s worth I bought a new 2019 1723e with backhoe for $14,900 in Virginia.

Radiator cap.

What are you pointing to as a lot of excessive wear, other than the paint on the operator's platform?

Just noticed I neglected to answer your earlier question

Is there an issue with the left rear fender beside the ROPS mount?

I did not notice any issue with the fender when I was testing it, but I was more focused on whether all the functions worked as expected (they did).

Agree about going to 2016, but not many used units around. At least in the near term, the choice is more likely between this one and new.

Thanks for your input, your comments seem a little more critical than some of the others, but that's what I came here for, a critical eye.

Sounds good, where at? What do you suppose a great deal on a 1723e with loader only should run?

FEL curl cylinders have a lot of paint scratches. Doesn't look like use, looks more from clamping from a rebuild. Front tire wear indicates 4WD use a lot, on a paved surface when they can't lose traction, possibly with heavy loads in the bucket. Never a good practice, hard on the front axle gears.
Not a lot of difference between the 2015 GC1715 and an earlier GC2400, same DL100 loader. IMO the DL95 is worth a bit more on the 2016 model. Higher ratings, and the grease fittings in the pins.
The GC1723 moves the loader control lever position, whichever works better for you. SCUTs retain quite a bit of their value, sometimes buying new with a 5 year power train warranty makes sense.

Massey dealer in Ashland VA. I’m not sure as I wanted the BH. I would think 10-11k

That must be Agribusiness Service? Some nice comments about them on Yelp, but don't seem to have a web page, I'll have to go old school to find out what they can do.

So you're saying something like this would be a better buy?

That warranty is 5yr 2000hr on a new machine if memory serves. That aside, replacing tires isn't cheap, the DL95 or the even newer FL1805 loaders are both superior in capacity to a DL100 and the GC1723 has improved ergonomics. What that means in dollar value to you is a question only you can answer. The 1723 has less HP that the GC1715 so that also needs to be considered. The GC1725M is the actual modern equivalent.

I just meant in terms of used tractors, not new -- they are asking $600 more for the 2016 with the DL95 and fewer hours. Unfortunately, it's 7 hours away, so there is little chance to see in person. Anyone in Ohio know this dealer or tractor?

What will force me to buy new will be the lack of used supply out there, really not much.

The loader and lesser hours likely mean better tires and that's worth $600 to me all day long.

The one Manganos mentioned above....sorry no I did not price the backhoe model, I was only interested in tractor + FEL.
